Dear Park Hyatt Vendome I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction and distress regarding my recent, utterly unacceptable stay at your hotel. My experience was marred by a series of egregious failures that culminated in my premature departure. Firstly, my check-in experience was appalling. On multiple occasions, my room was not ready upon arrival, forcing me to wait for up to two hours in an empty restaurant. This is completely unacceptable for a hotel of your supposed caliber. Secondly, I endured persistent and disruptive noise in my room. Despite reporting this issue to your staff on more than three separate occasions, the noise continued unabated for an extended period. This severely impacted my ability to rest and relax. Furthermore, the bed provided was wholly inadequate. I had booked a king bed, but instead, I was given two single beds pushed together, resulting in a large and uncomfortable gap. This made it virtually impossible to sleep throughout the night. The service, particularly from your front office staff, was deeply offensive. I consistently felt that I was being looked down upon. When reporting the numerous issues I encountered, I was repeatedly met with the dismissive and unhelpful question, "What can I do for you?" instead of a genuine apology or attempt to rectify the situation. I was also forced to request basic amenities, such as bottled water, daily. The final and most egregious incident occurred as I was preparing to attend the Valentino party. Upon returning to my room, I discovered that housekeeping had failed to provide the turn-down service. When I reported this to the front desk, I was met with aggressive and intimidating behavior from a staff member named Lucas. He raised his voice and demanded, "What happened again? The turn-down service for you is 8 o'clock." This aggressive confrontation left me feeling scared and unsafe, leading me to make the immediate decision to check out of the hotel. This accumulation of failures, including the unacceptable check-in delays, noise disturbances, inadequate bedding, dismissive service, and finally, the aggressive confrontation, created an utterly intolerable environment. I felt deeply disrespected and unsafe. I demand a full and thorough investigation into these incidents and a comprehensive response outlining the steps you will take to address these serious issues. I also expect a substantial refund for the nights I was unable to stay due to your hotel's failures. My experience at the Park Hyatt Vendôme Paris was a complete disaster and a profound betrayal of the standards I expect from a...

The saying: “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder” sums up my review of this property. I will get back to this but first let me break it down so you can understand where I’m coming from:
1-Location: Prestigious address by Place Vendôme, close to Opera Garnier, Gallery Lafayette and many upscale shops and restaurants.
2-Service: Exceptional service that we learned to expect from any Park Hyatt property. This one doesn’t disappoint in this category. When I was charged for a dinner that happened on September 9 (I checked in on September 11) they front desk staff immediately removed from my bill.
3-Public Areas: The lobby area is a long corridor ending at the desks used for check in on one side, with the restaurant and bar, on the other side. It’s small, intimate and cozy. This area is very peaceful, it’s tastefully decorated, and it has the boutique hotel feeling. Spa and gym downstairs are also small but convenient.
4-Room: I was upgraded to a suite on the 5th floor with a huge terrace facing the Rue de La Paix and the Vendôme Column. The room was spacious but not inviting. I must say that the dark wood, golden frames, mirrors, DVD player, the worn out chairs in the terrace… gave me the feeling of something that was done in the 80’s and it was never updated. It was not ugly, it just looked dated and belonging to another time. On a side note, there is a regular sink in the bathroom and there is a second sink inside the shower stall. Maybe this was a thing in the old days.
5-Breakfast: On my first morning, I went down to the restaurant for breakfast. It took us two long hours to have an omelette with some croissants, yogurt and canned fruits (yes, you read it right and I will just leave it here). On the second day to avoid the long breakfast downstairs, we ordered room service for breakfast and we enjoyed a nice morning at the terrace overlooking Place Vendôme. There was some issues with our order but let’s not be picky. Check the picture I posted from this breakfast and let me know what you think. On our third morning, the hotel reopened the buffet and the experience was much better than the other days.
6-Final Thoughts: Based on my stays at several Park Hyatt properties around the world Park Hyatt Paris is my least favorite. Is it a bad hotel? Not at all. It’s just bland and unappealing. But I understand that lots of people appreciate the “dated luxury” that this hotel offers and all I can say is that “beauty is in the eye of...
Read moreThis hotel is excellent; however, having stayed at Park Hyatts in Japan, the Paris location falls short in several way:
Breakfast buffet: As visitors with Globalist benefits, the breakfast (60 euro) was included. However, the first day, we noticed a significant amount of flies on the food, especially the cheese (my favorite). This was very off putting as the cheese was covered in flies and sitting on the buffet. The chef came out every 10 minutes to wave them away, but I was astonished that they did not remove and replace the cheese. This was very off putting. The other two mornings, there were fewer flies but I still saw some. At the price of the buffet, I’d recommend the Park Hyatt invest in covered trays to protect food that was prone to flies.
Room: The room was large and spacious but oddly laid out. We were upgraded to a superior room, but it seemed like it mostly offered more unusable space. The only sitting area was a single chair and ottoman and a desk chair. We hoped to have breakfast in the room, but there was truly no functional place to eat it. As most of the rooms are interior facing, the room was quite dark throughout the day (a negative for sitting in the room during the day but a plus at night).
3: Bathroom: The bathroom was large but the toilet offered no separation from the shower/sink/dressing area. This was a bit odd and frustrating for such a high end hotel and large room. Additionally, our room only had a shower (no bath tub). This room seemed well configured for one person but not two.
4: Work/maintenance. Our final day, while trying to nap, there was repeated hammering for about 45 minutes near the room. While maintenance is expected, an advanced notification would have been welcome so we could avoid the room (especially since we received an advanced notice about anticipated strikes, I feel like this could have been possible).
Additionally, our first day after checking in, we discovered that neither of the outlets worked by our bed (tripped switch). This was quickly rectified by maintenance but still surprising to find in a hotel of this caliber.
With those issues out of the way, the service was excellent, the bed comfortable, and the location perfect for seeing Paris. However, this location did not compare to either Japan location, and, ultimately, I would not consider this location for a future Paris trip given the nightly cost in points and dollars. It is great for a one time stay...
