the worst food I’ve ever eaten. I ordered beef—my first time in France with high respect to French cooking. But the steak tasted like it had been frozen for six months and then nuked in a microwave. It was so tough I had to chew with all my strength. The waiter never even asked me how I wanted it cooked—clearly it didn’t matter.

My wife ordered a salmon salad. We thought it would be seared, but it came completely raw. She wouldn’t eat it, so I tried a few bites and got a stomach ache in the middle of the night.

Excellent little bar-restaurant serving a wide variety of dishes of different cuisines. All homemade and great quality for reasonable prices.

The accras for starters were perfect. The swordfish main with broken maize, and mango salsa was delicious, as was the chicken satay with rice. (My descriptions here do not do justice to the accompaniments, which were all elaborate, varied, and well matched to the dishes.) The very good chocolate mousse was covered with delightful praline crunch.

The welcome was very warm, and the service fast, efficient, and friendly. Both were almost perfectly bilingual - French/English.

Chez Coquille is a popular place that offers a quick bite if you are in a hurry, but it also offers the possibility of easy going lunch or dinner with Weijn if you have more time. The serving is done by young people who are fast and efficient. We stopped here to order a quick bite because we need to go to the finals match of France against USA ladies basketball in the Mercy stadium, which was not so far from here. To our surprise, the food came in five minutes and it was really good and we were even having time to spare because we had just a half an hour to eat and be on our way.
