What an utterly splendid experience. The guided tour was nothing short of a theatrical performance, riveting from start to finish. The young lady conducting the tour delivered over an hour of engaging and impassioned narration. To call it a “guide” would be an injustice; it was, in essence, a masterclass in performance art.
Though the commentary was primarily in French, I was able to glean roughly half the content through real-time translation. Alas, my grasp of French is limited, but even so, the quality and charisma of her delivery were unmistakable, far superior to any written English guide.
This lady possessed a captivating charm, commanding the room with a magnetic presence not unlike a leading actress in a period film. Her energy transported us into the whimsical world of the vintage amusement park with such vivacity that one felt entirely immersed.
Within the grounds, one finds a treasure trove of antique delights: a beautifully restored carousel, a mechanical horse-racing game, and a rotating bicycle contraption, all singular and enchanting experiences one seldom encounters elsewhere.
A veritable jewel of a museum. Highly recommended for those with an appreciation for charm, artistry, and a touch...
Read moreThis place was beautiful and very unique. As a non- French speaker though I really struggled to follow the tour. Firstly I felt like I was missing so much of the story and details because I couldn't understand anything - it felt like the pamphlet we were given just had a fraction of what was said and acted out. I feel like if the pamphlet was more detailed it would have helped me feel more immersed. Secondly we really struggled to figure out which page of the pamphlet to read because we were either not going in order or something? Half the time we were trying to base ourselves on the pictures, or just try to guess. Overall I think I would have rated this a 5 if I was able to follow the tour ( even with the pamphlet), doesn't mean I didn't enjoy or have fun anyway during my visit! A somewhat selfish suggestion is to maybe start having 1 or 2 tours a week in english so that even we can really enjoy the tour in the same way, I understand it might not b easy, but I feel it would be great for...
Read moreOMG, this delightful place melted my heart! My inner child was running madly all over the place, although outwardly I remained relatively calm. What a fun, unusual, and fascinating place, full of unique history of the Belle Époque/Gilded Age. Some items on display were over 100 years old and still in working order. We rode on different Merry-go-Rounds, played a horse derby game reminiscent of corn hole, and watched gorgeously dressed automatons perform. The icing on the cake was our guide, Liber, who easily was the most entertaining and enchanting of the three I saw there. Even though the ticket said the tour was French only, he graciously went back and forth from French to English to make sure everyone understood. He was like a big child himself, so enthusiastic about sharing this special place with us, bursting into song and constantly making jokes. It definitely was the highlight of my trip! Make sure you request Liber as your guide, and make your...
