Tourist Trap. Note that the several 5 star ranks are given by reviewer with the title "Local Guide". Their reasoning is open to your guess as well as mine: One star only because “no star” is not an option. The waiters is simply rude, even by French waitress scale. Couldn’t hide her disappointment to herself we didn’t order expensive wine rather than beer. The place is hot like a furnace, no air condition and even the ceiling vent was not helpful. We ordered vegan platter. The food was awful- the pita bread was warm but dry. It was clear they are not out of the oven, most likely warmed in oven. The falafel balls came as a chunk, it looked like someone scooped the leftover of the falafel from the bottom of the burning oil. The salads were tired. I asked for the check, the waitress approached, mumbled something “you didn’t like the food” and charged us 15 euros - just to stop us on the exit of the restaurant and claim she made a mistake and our bill is actually 25 euros. I paid just to get it over with and...
Read moreServer (older lady) was incredibly rude and inhospitable. It made the entire dining experience very unpleasant. Will definitely not be coming back here. I think she may have been racist as she was extremely cordial to the other customers who were white. The contrast between her interaction with the other customers right next to us was so different, it was very awkward. We were initially puzzled by her treatment of us. But looking around we realized we were the only nonwhite customers in the restaurant. I have never been made to feel so unwelcome as I did here. Don’t support this business. Too many other great options in the Marais with great service. Btw, this is the first and only review I’ve ever written. That should indicate how disturbing this experience was. I don’t ever write reviews - bad or good.
Reply to the owner: Yes, this review was meant for your restaurant. Perhaps not you, personally, but you know who I am talking about. We ate there a couple of weeks ago, not in the...
Read moreWent with some friends as a last minute stop. We’re visiting from LA and our group needed to meet back up in less than 30 minutes. There was no wait and so I entered even though I’ve never liked falafel at home. When I exited, I loved falafel. It was a transformative experience. The service was amazing and fast, and even though they didn’t speak strong English, they were very helpful and kind. The food was very reasonably priced, and it was so damn good. We got the chicken breast, curry, and falafel special. The portions were generous and really really good. The place is very nice and clean and it has a very homey environment. They were very welcoming, and we didn’t feel out of place at all as a group of POC teens. We were able to make it back to our group in time. My only regret is that we weren’t able to stay longer. 100% must visit if I’m ever back in Paris again. This may be my only review on Google reviews but this place made...
