Chez Meng — Restaurant in Paris

Not sure how to really start this review. We were welcomed by the what I believe is the owner and the waiters with smiles. They were really nice at first. Then we realized we were being served quite differently than the others. Mind you we are asian non French speaking (we were actually expecting better service lol). It turns out we were not provided the same service as others.

No water and they did not provide the fried shrimp chips as the other customers. We were surrounded by a French couple and American tourists. All of which got shrimp chips right when they sat and served water

We believe from reading other reviews on other sites now that this behavior towards asian guests is not a surprise.

We ordered the roast duck noodle soup, chicken Sichuan noodle soup and shrimp fried rice. It was just ok

The soup came out our luke warm (already a bad sign)

Would advise any asian tourist to not Eat at this restaurant...

How on earth this place managed to get 4.4 star reviews on Google I'll never know, this restaurant is the worst chinese I have ever been to! The food was near inedible, crispy duck which arrived on the plate still quacking, sweet and sour sauce was watered down ketchup, and I've never seen egg fried rice with tinned spam in it before, what ever was they thinking? All of this and the wait for each dish was astonishing, nearly 20 minutes passed by between 2 dishes arriving

If this place is one of the top rated cjinese restaurants in the area I dread to think what the rest of them must be like, says a lot about the locals if they think this place is good

Save yourselves the money and go find some scraps in the street bin, it'll probably...

Its the definition of avarage. Its up to you if that is either too less or enough.

The meals were just ... avarage. Not good quality but just enough to not complain. The service was below avarage, english was not understood, waitress was not very nice, instead of asking excuse moi she said Ha? when something wasnt clearly understood. The ambience was okay. Theres a lot of photos showing the owner with different national celebreties from a better time back then and thats how the ambience could be described too. It was clean enough to eat but the restaurant felt a bit dirty beside the tables. Like the aquarium in the entry area, it was muddy, this is not...
