What ever you do, DO NOT step foot in this restaurant!!
As I, with a few of other parisians and children walked by this place yesterday morning heading to work or school, we were suddenly caught in an unfortunate down-poor of heavy rain. We briefly took shelter under the “Tavern”’s awning before bracing ourselves to cross the road once the pedestrian lights would turn green. At this instant, the owner of the “Tavern” sitting down on his empty terrace, takes one lazy look at us, outraged by our presence he huffs with disgust, yells to his colleague inside, and with a wave of a hand and a snap of two fingers he shouts “ROLL BACK THAT AWNING ! ! !”
Heaven forbid, WE, “these pathetic plebeians” had the ABSOLUTE NERVE to stand underneath his precious awning! (Even though it was covering a part of the public pavement path)
But then perhaps I’m confused with my emotions, this man was probably right to do so; if he hadn’t rolled back that awning we would have probably taken the liberty to stand underneath it all day! Because, standing underneath an awning all day is, as we know, such a thrilling activity for the pleb. Although as I think back, this man was overflowing with that rare Parisian charm, the exact same charm you see in the rats crawling from trash to gutter.
That being said I shouldn’t compare this poor excuse of a man with rats, because rats can be charming, Disney prooved this.
To rap this up or “roll it back !” as it may, my conclusion is that if we were at war, and what with France’s past during WW2, you would most DESPERATELY NOT want this stone-hearted person to be your neighbour.

Read moreWe were served horrible food. The muscles had horrible smell and when we complained to the waiter he did not care at all. The only edible things were the fries and the margarita pizza. But it doesn’t end there. I accidentally dropped my wallet on the floor and called in next morning to inquire if they had found anything. They told me no and that the night staff was not available to ask atm. We went back and the manager was reluctant to show us the surveillance video but the owner was extremely helpful and upon digging deep- the same waiter had stolen my wallet and had thrown all of my CARDS (resident permit, health card, bank cards) in the trash. Had hid the wallet for later use and taken out all the cash from within. Although the owner was very helpful and made sure to retrieve all the contents inc the wallet and gave 200 euros for the stolen cash (even though the wallet had more cash and we weren’t compensated in anyway; not even for the horrible food we were served) and was genuinely concerned but the staff in general had no remorse. The waiters excuse was that We complained about the smell which somehow offended him so he, to take revenge, stole from me but also threw away my cards… there seemed to be no repercussions for the waiter though… anyway, I am still grateful to the owner and the rest of the staff for helping after. They were...

I recently visited Clichy's Tavern with a party of six, hoping to enjoy some coffees and drinks during a break from walking around. Unfortunately, our experience was far from enjoyable. One of our party members did not want a drink, which seemed to baffle our server. The server then returned with a manager, who informed us that we all had to order a drink or food to keep our table.
This policy struck us as unreasonable, especially given that the place was not busy and there were plenty of empty tables available. We were simply looking for a place to relax and refresh, but instead, we felt pressured and unwelcome.
Feeling disappointed and frustrated, we decided to take our business elsewhere. Customer service like this is unacceptable, and we certainly won’t be returning. If you’re looking for a hospitable and accommodating cafe, I recommend finding...
