Avoid at all costs! Literally just shopped there half an hour ago, arrived home & write this review. Won’t even be giving one star for service, it’s minus!!!
Despite rainy weather & being ill, I walked 20 minutes specially, only to visit this place. When I walked in, none of the staff greeted me when they clearly saw & heard me coming in. There were two of them & there wasn’t any other customers. One girl was a cashier, one should be serving & packing cakes. She just stood at the corner giving rolling eyes, not welcoming me at all. I literally had to walk so far inside & half shouted “bonjour” then she started to come to me from the corner (where she could clearly see me entering the shop). Both of them: no smile, no hospitality, nothing! I literally spoke in French & English, not alien language they didn’t understand. Even if I did, it doesn’t give them any right to behave that way to a paying customer. When I even spent so much, yes I spent €30,50 for small, expensive, not-so-special rather basic cakes delivered with unacceptable behaviours. Oh, they welcomed customer after me (caucasian) with the sweetest smile & greetings.
There are literally hundreds of other much better boulangerie & pâtisserie around Paris who would be happily welcoming you, would treat you with decent hospitality. Regret spending money here I should’ve walked away & didn’t continue with the purchase! I will...
Read moreOut of all the amazing pastries I've tried in Paris, this ought to be my favorite one out of all. I ordered the kouign-amann, le noisette (chocolate hazelnut), tarte au citron (lemon tart), and a bag of madeleines to take home for the family.
First off, everything ordered was amazinggggg! kouign-amann: similar to a croissant but a little buttery, and covered with a caramelized outer crust.
le noisette (chocolate hazelnut): Amazing milk chocolate with wafer crisps and hazelnut - amazing!! Tastes almost like the Ferrero Rocher chocolate, except in a pastry form.
tarte au citron (lemon tart): I thought it was going to be super tart like the ones I've had in the states. But no, it had that perfect amount of tart that doesn't force my eyes squint. So I can actually enjoy it. Lol.
take home Madeleines: still tasted fresh and buttery after my long travel back home.
I highly...
Read moreCaught in the chaos of rush hour and on a mission to find a birthday cake for my son’s 26th, I wasn’t expecting much—until I stumbled upon this charming pâtisserie. What a delightful surprise! Not only was the presentation exquisite, but the flavors truly impressed. My son was absolutely thrilled with the cake (Equinox).
A heartfelt thank you to the team behind the counter—and especially to the chef. Your craftsmanship turned a last-minute errand into a memorable celebration. This gem has certainly earned a spot on my list for future visits.
As for the rating: the four stars mean five to me—because if I simply gave five stars, I’d be lying to you. There’s always room for honesty, and this place came remarkably close...
