The Tour Montparnasse is a single high tower (210 m) that is placed in the southern part of central Paris with a clear line of sight to the Eiffeltower, Arc de Triomph, Louvre and basically all other famous sights in Paris. You can easily get to it rather fast by Metro which is recommended.
I have a fear of hight so here are some advices in advance: I asked my doctor if there are some medical helpers to overcome my fear of hight or at least reduce it to an acceptable level (btw I have no fear of flight which is really funny tbh). My doctor gave me a package of pills with lavender oil. Had to start taking one per day several days in advance and it seemed to help a lot.
You could enter the tower for free but when getting to the upper most floor (via elevator in less than 1 min!) you had to pay for a ticket as a tourist. Since the highest floor was completely enclosed, I could go right to the window and look out and enjoy the breathtaking view. Paris is really big and seems to go to the horizon! I have attached many pictures and panorama views. My smartphone does not have the best quality but it sure gives you a good idea how good the view is. Absolutely worth the price IMO.
My GF was also really happy about the view. One more thing about the fear of hights: There is enough room to have a comfortable distance to the windows and there is a small restaurant (with ok prices for the location) where you can take a seat and rest for a bit.
Then there is the roof and probably the best place to go. You can access it via stairs from the top floor I just described and the view is even more amazing because it is glass all around to give some protection from the wind (also lots of photos/panoramas attached).
The good thing is that the view platform is smaller as the floor beneath it so the lower floor acts like a step, something to orientate at and thus really helping with the fear of hights. There was absolutely no problem going right to the glass. In fact there is a horizontal gap in the glass which allowed me to make the great panoramas that are attached.
Again, the view was amazing and is highly recommended. It is worth the price and if I ever go to Paris again, I again go to Tour Montparnasse!
We were there by dailight and since I also was on top of the Eiffeltower by dailight leading into the night, I would recommend being there at dailight AND night because the lights of the city are beautiful and amazing! Just looked it up and the tickets for day&night are a bit more expensive than the day ticket only, would still be...

Tour Maine-Montparnasse (Maine-Montparnasse Tower), also commonly named Tour Montparnasse, is a 210-metre (689 ft) office skyscraper located in the Montparnasse area of Paris, France. Constructed from 1969 to 1973, it was the tallest skyscraper in France until 2011, when it was surpassed by the 231-metre (758 ft) Tour First. The view covers a radius of 40 km (25 mi); aircraft can be seen taking off from Orly Airport.

After arriving at the base of the tower, which is opposite the Gare Montparnasse, we found the area around the tower to be beautiful, filled with many people, gardens, and a bus stop, though a few blocks were a bit stinky. We had half an hour before our assigned entry time, so we roamed around and visited a crepe cart to enjoy some crepes. We also stopped by a souvenir shop to check prices and ended up meeting a couple of guys from our hometown working there.
After completing the security check, employees guided us to the elevator that took us to the observation deck on the 56th floor. The observation deck has a food kiosk, a souvenir shop, a photo booth, toilets, virtual reality kiosks that explain the landmarks of Paris, and a projector setup that demonstrates the history of Paris and the Montparnasse Tower. There is also a fine dining restaurant, ‘Le Ciel De Paris,’ on the 56th floor, which serves French cuisine.
We spent almost an hour on the observation deck, enjoying the 360-degree views, learning about various monuments’ histories, and taking pictures. Then, we climbed two flights of stairs to the rooftop to soak in the unobstructed view of the romantic city. There is an ‘I Love Paris’ sign and other spots to take great pictures. We sat for a while before heading back downstairs. We visited the gift shop but found it a bit pricey, so we didn’t purchase anything.
We kept an eye on the tickets but didn’t book in advance due to uncertainty about our arrival time. Once we arrived, we booked tickets online from the official website. There is a price difference between online and offline tickets. They offer different combo...
