Déviant — Restaurant in Paris

It was late, and we were walking around aimlessly trying to find food until we passed by this place and saw servers walking around with good looking dishes. It was completely random, but the best meal we've had in Paris. How this place doesn't have more reviews is beyond me. We went to restaurants that had hundreds to thousands of great reviews, but the food was just okay. This place was better than all of those places combined. The portions were a bit small, but the dishes were so insanely flavorful, delicious, and creative.

Moules Nam-Jim- These were honestly one of the best mussels I've ever had in my life. That sauce was just so amazing, we even ordered seconds.

Côtelettes d'Agneau Yaourt, Zaatar- The lamb chop was perfectly cooked. It was so tender. The yogurt sauce complemented it so well.

Do yourself a favor and visit this place instead of one of those highly reviewed places with...

The name "deviant" could refer to the deviantly bad service. Great wine list, decent food, but we were overcharged on the first and only visit I'll ever make to this place. When we disputed the excess bill, the manager, a man with, apparently, his own hashtag (#clementjeannin), argued with us, then wordlessly sent a busboy to the table 20 minutes later, with €44 in cash. No explanation, no apology. Two email attempts to discuss this bitter experience with higher-ups went ignored. Fortunately Paris has plenty of similar spots to spend your hard-earned cash; here's three: 1/Martin, 2/Septime La Cave, 3/L'Avant Comptoir du Marché, probably the genesis of this genre, if you don't mind a tourist or two...

I loved the vibes of this place! The orange wine (the name is something ending on blanc) was light and lovely. The sommelier gave us a little tasting since we didnt know what to choose. I didnt love the food - I would say the topinambur and the peanut ice cream were great, but the others I just didnt love. I would absolutely come back to maybe just take a small bite and drink there because the music and general atmosphere was great, but not for dinner.
