All Hype, No Hospitality. I rarely write bad reviews, but our experience at Dosamaa in La Chapelle was so disappointing that I feel the need to be honest. Like many others, I discovered this place through Instagram. The photos are beautiful, the food looks amazing online but the actual visit was a completely different story. We walked in with a baby stroller, and right away, the staff’s reaction was uncomfortable and cold. No smile, no greeting just annoyed looks like we were inconveniencing them by being there. We asked where we could sit, and although there were approximately 9 tables and only 2 were occupied, they insisted we keep the baby stroller in the aisle, rather than making a basic effort to accommodate us. The service was pathetic. The two women serving (not sure if they were sisters) had no friendliness whatsoever when speaking to us but we clearly saw them smiling and warmly engaging with people they seemed to know. It felt like if you're not part of their inner circle, you're treated like an outsider. I personally didn’t order anything, but my sister had set dosa, vada, and filter coffee. Sadly, even that was disappointing the set dosa was cold, and nothing tasted fresh or particularly good. At that point, the whole experience had already been soured by the service, and the food didn’t redeem it. This place might look good on Instagram, but don’t be fooled. The attitude, the lack of hospitality, and the mediocre food don’t live up to the hype. Definitely not recommended especially if you’re coming with family or expect even the most basic level of...
Read moreWe enjoyed a really good meal at Dosamaa fresh, and full of flavor. But what left the biggest impression was the kindness we experienced.
Nyraa, who took care of our table, was genuinely warm and attentive. At one point, I saw her offer a glass of water to a delivery person who had just come in. It was such a thoughtful gesture, small, but not something you see every day.
What truly touched us was the kindness of the owner, Tharikaa. When my friend’s baby started to get a bit restless, she gently offered to hold her and walked her around the restaurant so we could enjoy our meal calmly. It wasn’t something she had to do, she just saw a chance to help and did it with such care.
These small acts of generosity and warmth made our visit feel special. It’s rare to find a place that serves both good food and such genuine...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant a few days ago after reading some reviews. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to expectations. The food was average, though I guess it’s the standard here in France. We’ve had better South Indian food in the UK.
To start, the idli was served cold, and the sambar was ice cold as well. We then ordered a masala dosa, but that was also strangely cold.
What was even more disappointing was the hygiene. There was only one lady handling everything serving food, cleaning, and even using the same hands to throw away leftover food without washing them. It was really off-putting and unacceptable. Overall, we left feeling very...
