Pondichery Restaurant — Restaurant in Paris

At first glance, this restaurant didn't look very impressive; it was relatively empty and quite warm inside. There was a standing fan that we asked if they could turn on, but they said it would not be possible. However, they transferred us to another table and turned on a portable AC next to it, and it just got better hereafter.

We ordered a dal fry, a chili chicken, and a chicken korma. Soon, a couple of complimentary vadas were served, followed by our order, with each entree accompanied by a thali containing a serving of flavored rice, a gourd curry, sauteed vegetables and a salad. (The service/the waiters/the owner) What a pity that the service does not accompany the high quality of the cooking. You can hardly get a smile out of the waitresses. Thankfully the owner and hostess, a middle-aged charming woman, is always around willing to exchange some kind words with all her clients.

(Recommendation) Despite the high price of the food and the not so attentive waiters´ service, I had a pleasant dining experience with food of the most exquisite flavours. For this reason I highly recommend going to the Open...

I walked into this place thinking it would be just the regular take-away experience where I would place the order, wait for the food, pay and leave but the folks running the place gave a really pleasant experience, offered me a tea and spoke to me and even asked me if I wanted to try out their sweet kesari. They ofcourse did not expect me to pay. The food was great but I wish I could give the service more than 5 stars! I will definitely be going back...
