Dumbo Marais — Restaurant in Paris

Everyone told me to check this place out whilst I was in Paris and unfortunately I thought it was only ok. There are literally 4 things on the menu - Beef burgers, veggie burgers, fries and nuggets.

No alterations or additions are allowed; if you ask they will just tell you it's "not possible", and you can see why. The place is rammed and they are churning out burgers as fast as their little production line could manage, but that still results in wait times of at least 15 minutes at peak times.

The burger itself was pretty tasty but I just found it a bit lacking for the hype. It was well done (I thought the French prided themselves on not overcooking beef?) but the flavour was there. I also found it a bit thin. Don't get me wrong, I hate these modern burgers that end up staked together like some sort of meaty vampire; you should be able to eat a burger with one hand, but maybe the choice of an extra patty would help out if you're super hungry.

It's a good standard burger and worth checking out if you're hungry and nearby but maybe not worth a big detour or...

Writing this for pregnant people and immune compromised

My husband really wanted to try this place. I’m pregnant and asked the host if everything was fine to eat (burgers cooked through, pasteurized mayo, etc) and she assured me yes, everything is fine if you’re pregnant. We ordered, waited, and everything was going fine until I noticed how they were preparing the burgers. The cook would prepare the raw meat with gloves and then, using the same gloves, handle the cheese and buns and fried and cooked French fries. I can only assume this had been happening all day, in a hot kitchen, in June! Honestly, it’s probably fine if you’re not pregnant. But this kind of cross contamination is really dangerous if you’re pregnant or immunocompromised. Suffice to say, I let my husband eat my burger and fries. He said it...

One of the Best Burgers Ever!

This is easily one of the best burgers I’ve ever had—it’s in a league of its own and unmatched by any of your other favorites. The fries are absolutely amazing, and while the chicken nuggets are decent, they don’t quite stand out. After finishing one burger, I couldn’t resist getting up to order another. Pure heaven!

Be prepared to wait if it’s busy, as delivery orders keep coming even during quieter times. However, the quality remains consistently excellent, no matter the rush.

The setup is minimal, and yes, the space can be a bit cold with awkward seating. But it’s the perfect spot to stop for incredible food, freshen up with some wipes, and get back to your day...
