On our first night in Paris we wanted something near our accommodations and went here based on Google reviews. The pros: The owner/server was extremely warm, welcoming, friendly and hard working. He did his very best to make it a wonderful experience. The place is quaint and charming (handwritten menus, authentic old world dishes etc.) The cons: Unfortunately, it was one of the worst meals we ever had at home or abroad -- ever! Both the appetizers and main courses were inedible (overcooked seafood, bland sauces/flavors). It is rare for us to publish such a negative review and would not have done so if the food was mediocre, but the food really was quite terrible -- especially for the price. At 60 euros per person we would have expected something substantially better (especially since the above price only included 2 glasses of barely-drinkable wine). Read moreThe owner is Fulvio and he has been there for 33 years , no small feat in the competitive restaurant industry in Paris. He clearly is proud of his food and is a great host no matter what language you speak. The Marais is a touristy area so one must be careful of tourist traps. The higher prices reflect the quality of ingredients and because it is family style the portions are quite large and meant to be shared. The wine recommendation he gave us were excellent. Such a caring owner is much rarer to see these days , especially in a city like Paris. If you are in the Marais don’t think twice about it. And it’s very central so easy to get to...
Read moreWhat a gem of an Italian spot we found in Le Marias, an area full of busy cafes and brasseries. Fulvio was quiet with just 2 tables on Friday evening. The owner was very proud of his restaurant and Sardinian roots. The pasta dishes we ordered, tagliatelle with pork meatballs and tomato sauce and tagliatelle with champignons were absolutely delicious. The amount of black truffles mixed perfectly with the cream sauce was incredible! The servings were also large- our family of 4 shared two dishes. We recommend Fulvio to anyone who knows high quality...
