The place for Japanese curry in Paris!! I was running behind schedule and so lucky to find this resto on google map. Usually I don’t bother having Asian food when visiting Europe. But I was sold by the reviews. So I went and didn’t disappoint. I had beef curry rice and ginger soda. Both were extremely delicious. I was thinking at first, maybe they use those curry blocks from Japanese supermarket but the flavour is way more sophisticated than that. In fact, they told me that the owner and his Japanese wife created this special curry recipes themselves. And they even serve with Japanese rice which really makes a difference. Also love the little sweet potato and pomegranate topping which add a little special touch to the dish. And u see the big jars of ginger on the counter which they use to make ginger ale, it’s very refreshing and goes well w the curry. The owner and staff are super nice and funny. I will...

I think it is because it was very homogeneous, it lacked contrast/multiple elements, which is the strong point of japanese cuisine (multiple small bites). the chicken was a nice contrast texture wise, but it lacked flavour for me. the lemonade was very disgusting to me, it was bitter and stale instead of sour and fresh, but at least it wasn't overly sweet, sparkly, cold. overall great vibe, and a vibey spot to meet with a friend (not multiple because the place is tiny), cozy above average food, but not a standout gourmet experience; I've had a lot of similar (but still...
Read moreOh, man. I hate to tell anyone about this little gem because it's the size of a bathtub and will be crowded simply by looking at it, but it is so freaking good, I must. One of my favorite meals I've had in Paris, and I have eaten a LOT of places in Paris. One base curry with rice. Add vegetables or beef or pork or chicken. Add a hard-boiled egg (just do it). Get the curried croquettes, too. And the miso soup--it's as good as mine. This place will blow you away. Then pop en face to the coffee shop with possibly the best cookies in...
