Ugh, I really wanted to like this place. My boyfriend and I were staying in Paris for a night because we missed a flight. We’re American. Our hotel was nearby, and this place has good reviews so we swung in at 20:45 on a Saturday.

We were immediately seated and the hostess was cool. We ordered the beaujolais nouveau, oysters, duck, and tartare and asked for the oysters first.

We got the wine and the oysters really quickly. The oysters were crazy salty, but the mignonette was great - kinda spicy. But... then 30 minutes go by and we don’t have anything else. So we order more wine and ask about our other two dishes.

After about 15 minutes (so it’s almost 21:45) we get the duck and it’s fantastic - creamy and rich and delicious. We obviously devour it coz we starving. And then wait on the last dish. At around 22:15, 30 min later we still don’t have our last dish and are just absolutely wrecked with hunger. So once again we ask about the tartare and our waitress says she’ll check in the kitchen.

At 22:50 we’ve still heard nothing so we ask for the check to leave and explain that we’re leaving a restaurant hungry which sucks.

Idk, I wouldn’t come back here. If 2 hours go by and you’ve only had a couple snacks, what would you do? Maybe we were wrong because we were looking for a solid meal, or maybe we overestimated French service but we wound up bailing and going around the corner to get something to eat.

Also they charged us for an extra glass of wine which we never got, but to me that’s a simple mistake. No harm, no foul.

In all, the atmosphere was great, food was okay, wine was fine, and service was so slow a caterpillar would...

Superbly located original designed tapas style bar and restaurant in the Marais.

We came here following the recommendation of our bartender at The Little Red Foor not too far up the street. Much to our delight, the Mary Celeste was every bit as good as pitched.

It is a hot spot of activity that is well frequented by travelers and Parisians alike. It has a quaint and relaxed atmosphere that can get a bit loud (as is to be expected for Paris let alone someplace so popular)

They have a wide variety of unique dishes that are beautifully presented. The food is all locally sourced making for a truly delicious meals. They have a wide variety of oysters that are divine if you can enjoy them. Our group of 4 split a number of small plates with a cocktails and wine without breaking the bank!

Their wine list is very broad and you will be able to find something for most palates. Their cocktails list is very diverse with original twists on classics and more than a few unique drinks.

The staff was very knowledgeable abou lt their food, wine, and cocktails they were more than flexible and willing to assist in helping navigate the menu for non french speaker which was a plus for my guetss.

I highly recommend dropping by this place for a meal,...
