We arrived here quite close to their closing time in the late afternoon. We were greeted by a head waitress, Niamh who was managing the tables at the front of this busy neighbourhood restaurant. She knew many of the customers by name, and obviously cared a great deal about the products they have on offer as she went through some things she thought we might be interested in. Even though we were cutting it close and only ordering coffees she was so helpful and friendly and funny and really made us feel very welcome in what is clearly a neighbour cafe and not a tourist trap looking to reel in the masses. The table opposite to us had a local mother and son who without us asking offered to take a photo of myself and my girlfriend as thy could see we were happy to be there and enjoying the vibe the area has to offer. It really put such a wonderful spin on our day. We left there full of Parisian cheer and enthusiasm only to later realise that we had left a bag behind us. We returned an hour later and they had stayed open just to see if we were coming back! We couldn't believe it. It was a blazing hot day and they had things to be doing themselves but the owner and the incredible waitress we outside waiting for us to see if we would return! Amazing! Niamh and Co you made our trip that it more special and we will be coming right back to you guys on our next trip to your...
Read moreWe visited because of the location's connection to the movie Inception. It is a small family run operation. Our server spoke little English, but she was very accommodating and worked hard to make sure we had an enjoyable dining experience. They do not have paper or listed menus but they do a run through of what they're serving that day. The food was enjoyable and gave us the feeling of a homemade meal. We had the antipasto and salad to start, lasagna for the main, and tiramisu for dessert.
We enjoyed the people the most. The patrons were locals who all seemed to enjoy our presence there. The owner was jolly, making small talk with the patrons, and always checking to make sure everyone had what they needed.
Overall, a great experience. If you get the chance to...
Read moreWe went to this place while visiting Paris (we’re from the US). The owner was very hospitable and accommodated us when we were kind of in a pinch for dinner with small children in tow. It’s a small mom and pop style cafe (the best) and while we were eating we learned that Inception was filmed at this location. So not only was the atmosphere amazing because the views around you are beautiful but this place is famous. Almost no tourist there, it was not packed out with a line out the doors, and the food is properly some of the best Italian food I have ever had. Would highly recommend this place. But I also love its mom and...
