L’Île aux Singes — Restaurant in Paris

I've been here a couple times, once for drinks, once for food. The drinks were fine, there was a little cocktail menu and you get a little bowl of peanuts to go with it. The food is very​ good too, leans heavily towards Italian with daily specials. For vegetarian options, the day I was there there was a vegetarian salad and a platter of essentially Italian marinated vegetables and cheese. We were looking for another place for lunch when we passed by. A group of about 8 office workers was sitting outside clearly enjoying their lunch and I just felt that this was a proper French neighbourhood restaurant and café. We looked at the menu and then I spoke to the owner. I could see that he was a lovely kind man who was passionate about his customers. We stopped and had a lovely typical French lunch, and the owner looked after us very well. A very good experience for our Paris...

So glad we found this place! We showed up during a time where food was not being served, only drinks. We felt bad, since we assumed they were serving food. But, we were greeted by who we assume is the owner, he was very kind and accommodating. He kindly told no food but he can do small plates, which was great because we were starving. Super appreciative for his kindness and awesome service. Wish we were here longer because we would definitely come back. Thank you so much...
