My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner while hanging out in the Montmartre neighborhood of Paris. Full of locals and a perfect departure from the brasserie cuisine that we had been enjoying the previous days. We speak English and only a handful of French and never once felt uncomfortable. The service was polished, warm and inviting.

Our bottle of 2021 Pomerol perfectly complimented every dish and at €55 it was a solid value.

The menu is compact and seasonal. The zucchini flowers were phenomenal and not fried and heavy, as we are accustomed to seeing. Beautifully plated as well

My teriyaki tuna with roasted eggplant, garlic chips and crispy rice was perfect and my wife's duck breast was the best that we had during our short time in Paris

We also had the chocolate mousse on olive oil and see salt for dessert. No picture, but it was a top 5 all time dessert for me

I would not hesitate to book a table at this charming, off the beaten path Gem. Much looking forward...

We had a reservation for 20:30. After a long day, we were both very hungry and ready to eat. We had already checked the menu, and were ready to order. After 30 minutes a waiter finally had time to bring the menus. We ordered immediately.

After 15 minutes our drinks came. No food were served; not even bread. At 21:30 (an hour after arriving) we finally received some bread. Which was stale and the worst we had on our entire trip in Paris.

At 22:00 we finally received our food. Both dishes had somehow already gone cold. We were too worn out by then to complain. We finished our food quickly and asked a waiter for the bill. After another 10 minutes waiting i went to the counter to pay instead. When asked how my meal was, I mentioned the abnormal wait time.

The waiter mentioned, that the chef was alone this day. That did not however explain how the food had gotten cold or the absurd difficulties in getting the waiter's attention.

The food was great though. Even though...

Wow. We stumbled across this place on the way back to our apartment. We just wanted a last wine, however the waitress said we need to order food too. We had already eaten somewhere else but did not have dessert. So I ordered the tart au citron. Admittedly it took a while to come but just look at the photo. Amazing. I am so glad we had to get food because I would never have experienced that. Superb. Beautiful light packed with flavour and some crunch May go there again before...

Today I ate at Almanach in Montmartre and it was one of the best restaurants I ever tried. From the outside it looks like a litte normal restaurant but it was really very good. I ate the Gnocchi with spinach and I’ve never tried something like that it was really delicious. Our waiter was very nice and helped us because the menu was in french and the Chocolate Mousse was also delicious. Overall was this restaurant one of the best I tried in my life.
