have visited the resturant before ( with my husband) , and had a good experience. Good enough to bring a friend. However, this second time ended poorly. Why? Because of a waiter and the misunderstanding after because of him.
We made a rdv and we selected the 14 euro lunch set. We asked the waiter if we can order in english ( we both are B1 level french). We asked how the menu works and what can we order. HE confirmed that we can order from the main menu. So we did. When it was time to pay the bill was 115 euro. Impossible. We kindly pointed out the error. He brought back an 88 euro ( same food but extra taxes were taken off. Not tva. Something else)
Still incorrect we talk to the managers after explaining that this can not be right. She told us that we order off the wrong menu. We told her the waiter told us we could. When we asked him, he said, right in our faces, that we were liars and " pas intelligent". After going back and forth with them calling us liars and such, I called my husband and explain the situation. ( he is french) I gave the phone to the lady behind the bar. After he talked with her, her whole attitude changed. The said we still had to pay for the food ( which is fine) but the will take off the drinks. ( comprising at least). We left very annoyed and unhappy.
I believe that waiter tried to take advantage of us because he heard our accents. The staff will insult you to your face in french. If not for my husband their attitudes would have stayed aggressive.
Two star because of the previous experience...
Read moreWe were a family of 5 with a late arrival into Paris so didn’t make it to the restaurant until after 10 PM. The woman (owner?) who welcomed us and helped us select dishes was fantastic and gave us great recommendations so we could taste various dishes. The “Accras de morue” reminded me of the ones I ate growing up cooked by friends of my dad from the West Indies. The goat ragout was so tender and flavorful. We all loved the food, which arrived quickly, including my 11-year old and teens. She treated us at the end of the meal with specialty drinks and even brought a delicious non alcoholic fruit juice for my younger kid. I also really enjoyed their rhum. Highly...
Read moreCame across this place by chance since most restos around this area open only at 7pm and we did not have many options since we were early.
Happy hour is available everyday and they offer a happy hour apéro set at 10€ which includes a drink and a tapas plate (2 aubergine frites, 2 cod fritters, 2 plaintains).
For mains we ordered the grilled fish and chicken colombo. All mains come with a salad, rice and red beans.
Fish was very fresh and perfectly grilled! Chicken too was very flavourful. Red beans were very delicious.
Also, they take ticket restos. Would definitely come back again to try the...
