I visited this spot in 2019 and let me tell you! It goes down as the best resteraunt I’ve ever been to and not for the reasons you might think!

I went to Paris on a trip with my Mom and sister and decided to pop into this spot after wandering about on our first day in! It was here I learned that mom had cancer (which she has beat) and my sister and I were balling at the table! The owner/bartender/server. Who ever it was, treated us so nicely! Like came over and checked in on us, made jokes, was all around the most pleasant person! He brought me a shot of Jack Daniels and helped our sorrows disappear! Went back at the end of our trip and he recognized us, gave us a hug and made the best cap on the trip!

I’m reviewing so late now cause I will be in town for the Olympics and will 1000% be coming back to look for my friend! I’m packing a bottle of the best American Bourban I can find and will be gifting it to the man/resteraunt!

Thank you so much! Your kindness has been remembered after all this time!

Oh, and the food...

We have been to a few cafés and restaurants in Paris and this is the only place we were extremely surprised by how rude the staff is!!! It was traumatizing!!! It was so bad that after a mediocre breakfast and bad service, we had to immediately go to a hole-in-the-wall cáfe to wash off the bad experience. Granted we are not french-speakers but we tried to throw in a couple of French words and I smiled at them each time but to echo what my husband said: 1) the waitress seemed to can't stand my husband's non-existent French order. She was not at all sympathetic. 2) the guy waiter was extremely rude, condescending from getting our food down to getting our change. It was so awful. We selected the place for breakfast as it was close to our hotel and it had nice food photos, but boy were we dumbfounded by how worst their service was and the avocado toast I got was very bland. If we had not placed our order right away, we would have just left. Not our...

I really wanted to like this place. Felt Paris like with the chairs outside, people smoking and drinking.

I did my best to follow the Parisian way and wait to be seated. But clearly stuck out like a tourist (even while chic).

The server was cool (not cold, but not welcoming either). Asked for a prosecco and a side and all in English with polite, si vous plait and Merci - but not butchering the language.

Needless to say the experience was cold. I didn’t get the complimentary snack that every other table with an alcoholic drink had.

And to top it off it wasn’t cheap. There wasn’t anything happy about that €10 prosecco.

But lesson learned. There’s always that 1 place when you land that will treat you like a tourist and you just tell everyone else not to come here.

Would I recommend? NO. Only if there was...

Advice to all travellers: for big parties, 5 or more people, it’s almost impossible to find a free table. All the good places are taken so you’d better make reservations. However, my favorite part of traveling is finding local restaurants like this one. We went in with no expectations, and were genuinely impressed by the impeccable service. The food was excellent, with fresh ingredients and appropiately priced. We tried the onion soup, tartare, and duck. Ask for wine pairings to get the most out of the experience. The non-alcoholic cocktails were amazing! Friendly staff, timely service. They have good vegan options as well. The place was crowded, with the same small round tables you see everywhere so I can’t really comment on the ambiance. Location was very convenient, and the wait time was reasonable.
