Specialty coffee is rare to find in Paris and I really had my hopes high for this place. The name, La Main Noire gave me the idea of an ethically sourced coffee and great coffee beans. When you walk in there is no introduction or selection of coffee beans, let alone sourcing. The flat white I got was way, way below average. I mean even worse than brasserie coffee. Insta-worthy pink latte will be in my nightmares to come. It is simply disgusting. Imagine someone grated beetroots into warm milk (the ingredients were written so maybe i am the one to blame to order that). The barista acted quite insulted and resented whenever you addressed him which is a shame considering he was also serving and taking the bills, all while resenting. The food is equally impressive, with fresh, seasonal dishes that go beyond the usual café fare. I especially loved the egg and bacon pancakes.
