Franquette Paris — Restaurant in Paris

From the moment you step foot into Franquette you’re greeted with a smile and warmth. Philippe invites you into his own personal dining room, hosting you and his other guests for the evening.

We dined here tonight during our 6 day stay in Paris based on a recommendation of a friend who had also been here, and we’re grateful we did. It has been one of our favourite meals in Paris so far.

We shared four plates ranging from beef, veg such as cauliflower and aubergine, and some octopus. Each dish was pleasantly prepared not only treating our taste buds but also presented beautifully. Our dishes had a mix of middle eastern flavours using parsley, pomegranate, chickpeas, and dukkah, and some with Asian flavours, each dish more flavoursome than the next. It is evident that Franquette uses only quality produce.

The wines we had perfectly complemented each dish.

Unfortunately we enjoyed the mains too much that we didn’t leave room for dessert, but something to look forward to on our next visit.

The ambiance is warm and romantic; a collection of Philippe’s personal items scattered around the room and on shelves as high as the ceiling - capturing and entertaining the eyes of the curious, there is so much to see.

Thank you for welcoming us into your dining room tonight, Philippe. You’ve given my mother and I an experience to talk to our friends about for years to come.

OMG - What a gem! This restaurant is all about authenticity and genuine experience. From the location behind Place Clichy in the streets that have rejuvenated lately, to the menu which changes regularly, to the proprietor who will make you feel at home, to the playlist that is just different to whatever one may be used to these days. The food is varied and exquisitely prepared whilst the flavors are just incredibly well balanced. It is not just a burrata, a rillette or an octopuss. There will always be some additional well researched flavor associated to it, bringing out all the flavor of the main food. And don't go too far: that flavor is likely to be a spice or a fruit coming from one of the many countries that the proprietor had visited or even lived in. All the dishes are to die for. The good news is that the very concept of the restaurant is to try and share them all. Add some traditional French wine and you have just the perfect evening with friends.
