La Piscine Saint-Louis — Restaurant in Paris

We were staying in an AirBnd a few steps away from the restaurant. Our host had recommended the place. We showed up one evening and asked for a table. The hostess said she was the only person who had shown up for work, so she was about to close the restaurant. There were no other customers. Two days later, we tried again. We were asking the server a few questions about the menu & were sitting inside at the window. Once again, we were the only other customers, at least inside. Suddenly, there was a huge crash at the window. Two men who had been sitting outside on the terrace were fighting. Tables & chairs were displaced. Our server ran outside & was trying to separate the 2 men. The fight went on a long time, so we finally left. We weren’t confident they wouldn’t enter the restaurant since the server was involved. WORST SERVICE EVER - the girl looks at you then turns away or she purposely walks away very fast so you can’t grab her attention. The food is sub par, the worst is the fish and chips. They’re not chips nor fries but extremely over cooked thinly sliced crisps - they taste burnt but halfway through the ‘fries’ were soggy because they weren’t cooked in hot enough oil and so did my friends burger that the meat tasted very charred the chips also soggy. Found a small piece of plastic in my brioche dessert too which was mega fabulous. Took about 15 mins just to get the cheque. Wasn’t busy, 30%...

Sorry, but one cannot serve that quality for this price. The meat on the burger was far away from being worth 16 Euros. The fries were obviously made in too cold oil and were soft and full of oil. It was possible to see this and any cook or waiter cant seriously bring this to a table. And my wife had a Wok with chicken full with overcooked tasteless vegetables for 17 Euros. Everything was a lower quality than at most fast food places. I cannot recommend the place at all. The waiter was okay, but the gap between price and quality was much too high to give more...
