Le Flandrin is a restaurant that typifies French arrogance. They are rude. They are unwelcoming. They are impolite. They did not let us in. We waited at the gates. Oh, I'm not a white Caucasian. So maybe they are racist as well. You can see from the reviews that I have written and you would know that I visit places far superior to this establishment. A well connected friend had to call up. Then they let us in. Places were empty. Clients were eating, drinking. It was 1845 hours. But they did not let us in. Then nobody seated us either. We waited like ten minutes after being let in before being allowed to be seated. That was A HUGE favour. We actually got to sit in Le Flandrin which at that moment had at least around fifteen empty tables Android t about ten odd people were occupying other tables. When we were seated, nobody offered us a menu. Wait, it gets better. Then somebody came and actually asked us, "What do you want?" in quite a rude manner, like he was doing us a favour. My wife replied, "Onion soup." The waiter replied, "We do not serve soup here" in a tone that was so rude that it nearly compelled us to leave. This was a waiter speaking to us. If a restaurant manager spoke like that to a client in my country, he would probably never get a job again in his life. He spoke to us like we were his prisoners. Then my wife replied, "We need to have a menu to see what you serve!" Then finally he got us a menu. We were there to meet a dear friend of mine whom we had not met in two years. That was the only reason we stayed and waited for her. She was embarrassed at the French behaviour to say the least. I congratulated the serving staff at the hostile hospitality that was meted out to us. I repeat again, you can easily see some of the classy restaurants that I have reviewed. Le Flandrin is a farcical, wannabe, arrogant, rude joint which is best avoided. Over the last 21 years I have been to hundreds of restaurants in Europe, and more than a thousand in the world. This is my WORST restaurant experience ever. And that serving you see on the plate, it costs €25 or so, it was apparently crab meat. Avoid Le Flandrin in Paris!...

We arrived around 4pm. There were perhaps only 9 people there yet we waited nearly 10 mins to be seated. the reception was less than pleasant. No menu was provided and we were unable to get the attention of a waiter. Finally and reluctantly they took our order for a coffee and a mineral water. Getting the bill was a nightmare; waiters averted their eyes whenever they looked over. Finally I went to the register to pay. I was charged for 2 coffees, 1 red wine and a mineral water. I explained that the bill was incorrect and directed him to look at our table where one empty cup and one water glass sat. The arrogant manager who had taken our order disagreed and insisted the charge was correct. It was just absurd. At no stage did he speak to me directly but spoke about me to the other waiter disparagingly about how we shouldn’t have come if we couldn’t afford it. He didn’t realise I could speak French … big mistake. I paid for what we had and left. I will never go back and suggest that no one else...

Cuisine gestion catastrophique.
