I hate to do this but I have never in my life seen so many fruit flies in a restaurant. And it’s December. The flies were around our faces. At least 50 flies on the wall behind us. I hate to think what it was like in the kitchen. It had to be awful.
The other annoying thing is there were like 6 red wines in the menu but none of the lower priced wines were available. I can’t remember exactly the price point but I think the lowest was €40 or higher. It might have been €49. That’s just not a good price point for an average pizza place.
The pizza itself was excellent and service was good. It was hard to wrap my head around our experience because the pizza was so good but the flies were so bad. We were offered a table upstairs which we accepted not realizing the fun we would have getting there via a very narrow spiral staircase. We were seated at a small table overlooking the street with a cool breeze to complete the setting. We split a Le Panier (Cart) pizza. It was superb, among the best artisan pizzas we've had.
