Le passage à niveau — Restaurant in Paris

Had some time to kill before attending a concert, we found this spot nearby and I'm so glad we did! We went right around 5:30 and basically had the whole place to ourselves. But it was still a fun and lively atmosphere with staff and guests mingling, it made it feel cozy. I know if I lived in Paris I would come to this place often! We had the Thai Salad dish, the House Tzatziki and the Grilled Halloumi with a basket of bread. We each had a cocktail and our bill was still under 50 euro! Can't beat that!!! I used to love this place, but after being scammed when paying the bill, I don’t ever want to come back. The waiter, who had been super out of place throughout the entire night, charged us 20 extra euros for a drink that we only accepted after he persistently said that was for free, that it was on the house. When having to pay the bill, we saw that he had included the drink, so we reminded this to him. He then made a funny face, made a joke in french, and charged us anyway....

Het was even zoeken naar de ingang van Le Passage à Niveau die in een soort inrit door een schutting aan de straat ligt. Door rottend afval (ik herkende de lucht van composterende citrusschillen die ruiken naar babypoep, excusez le mot) stonk het daar zo vreselijk dat we dachten dat het daar niet kon zijn. Na wat heen en weer geloop toch maar door de meur heengelopen en toen in een charmant, rommelig postindustrieel tafereel beland pal aan de vroegere ringspoorlijn van Parijs. We waren moe van een intensieve dag Parijs en werden zonder reservering gastvrij ontvangen. We hebben genoten van een vegetarische hoofdgerecht en vegetarische maaltijdsalade en drankjes. Voor veganisten blijft het tobben in de culinaire topstad Parijs, die misschien lijdt aan een remmende voorsprong. Ook hier staan alleen een paar vegetarische gerechten op het menu. Mijn tijdige vondst van een steentje in mijn linzengerecht werd bezorgd en met excuses ontvangen. Gelukkig merkte ik een geen schade aan mijn gebit.
