First night in Paris and we wanted french cuisine. Did some research online and found Les Fils a Maman.
It was a Friday night and opened at 7pm. This surprised us because it seemed late, but this is our first time in Paris. We explored a bit, had a drink at the bar in front, and then popped in for dinner.
Love the vibe. Retro 80s theme and definitely catered to millennials. Server spoke English and was very helpful. Very kid-friendly as a families were allowed to take some of the decorative items to play with and entertain themselves.
We started with a dry sausage per our server's recommendation. It was delicious. I ordered the duck and my wife had the cordon bleu as main dishes. The duck was great. My wife did not enjoy the cordon Bleu because she thought it was too salty, but we looked at everyone around us and most tables had at least one person who ordered it. The origin story of the restaurant is featured in a spiral bound menu that was provided in addition to the fold-out brunch menu. The formule at 30 euros is a steal. In general, the restaurant offers great value for money. The egg/ham croissant was a 3 for me because of the scrambled egg quality (reminded me of cafeteria powdered eggs) and croissant quality (tough texture). The service is a 3 because the order had to be reconfirmed a few minutes after our drinks were served AND one of our drinks was served “virgin” in error. The ambience is fun and the guests appeared to be very pleased. Note: the table seating...
Read moreWe were a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 kids, 6 and 9. Sunday Brunch and we just walked in. They were fully booked but was so kind and seated us. They had to turn many away. We were super lucky. Generous brunch with fluffy pancakes, buttery, crispy and soaked in maple syrup. Eggs benedict with roasted potatoes and a bit of greens. Bread basket contained a jar of chocolate spread that we will enjoy still when we get home. Food was not exceptional, but the service was super and the vibe was nice and relaxed for our last meal in...
