This restaurant has terrible service, they forget to serve you food and are impatient when taking orders. The prices are not fair, the food is haphazardly made, the beef in the beef soup is old, and the noodles are overcooked
The merchant’s response said that our attitude was bad, but that is not the truth. We indeed did not have a reservation. My friend and I arrived at the restaurant at 7 p.m. We politely asked if there was a table available. They did not answer us, and although the restaurant was empty, they made us wait at the door for 10 minutes without informing us whether we could be seated. This in itself is very unprofessional. We can wait, but at least there should be a clear response:
No reservation, no seating available. Please wait at the door while they check if there are any cancellations and decide whether we can be seated. Inform the guests that there won't be a table available until after 8 p.m. But the restaurant staff didn’t do any of this; they just left us waiting and then disappeared. This is my first dissatisfaction with the restaurant: they were not professional. Second, it is true that my friend and I ate quickly, but this didn’t affect our dining experience. The nam tasted delicious, but the beef in the pho was very tough. This has nothing to do with whether it is Angus beef or not; it’s a matter of the chef’s cooking skills. So please do not confuse the issue. Third, the server brings a small side of kimchi with each pho, but we didn’t get one. My friend thought that maybe the waiter was too busy and forgot, so we politely asked if we could also get a small side of kimchi. However, your attitude in this matter made us very unhappy. The kimchi itself wasn’t important, but your continued insistence that there was no such kimchi and pretending not to understand English made us uncomfortable. If you had sincerely admitted that you forgot, I wouldn’t have written this review. But your attitude of pretending to be confused was what made us uncomfortable. So I’d like to ask the merchant to reflect on whether I am making up stories or whether your service is unprofessional and your chef...
Read moreAs a Hanoian visiting Paris, this was my first Vietnamese meal. My girlfriend said that this restaurant made better Phở than in Hanoi so I needed to see for myself. Since this place is a representation of my country's amazing cuisine I will be very honest in this review.
First, it's important to talk about the menu, with a few main options including: phở, bún bò, nem and cơm thịt kho. I expected every dish to be able to hold up by itself and they outdone themselves. Just FYI, I didn't order the bún bò. The nem was truly amazing, might be one of the best I have ever had (including those I had in the Old Quarter in Hanoi), the dipping sauce works well and the lettuce provided a bite of freshness.
As for the main star of the show phở, my belief is that the broth is the soul of the dish while the noodles and beef are the arms and legs of it. The beef was amazing, great quality and flavorful. My criticism is the noodle was a bit mushy so it didn't have that "bite" that I was looking for. The broth was solid but just a bit salty, we came in late in the night so the broth might be the most concentrated or at least that's my explanation.
The cơm thịt kho was great, possibly my second favorite dish of the night behind the nem. I am normally a cơm thịt kho hater because the fatty part is too slimy but the restaurant opened a new dimension with the melty meat. Transcendent, I do recommend it to anyone that wants an entry rice dish to Asian cuisine, easy to eat and not heavy.
I did order some desserts but honestly I don't think it matters that much. The sweet soup was okay, I have had much better in Vietnam and all the others are mediocre. Although, I must give them their praise for the main dishes. Definitely a great and authentic...
Read moreFlying from Canada to visit Paris, my family and I have to make many decisions for places to visit and restaurants to eat at. We are so glad that we found this restaurant and made the reservation even before leaving Canada. This restaurant is always full of customers and it is important to make reservation as well as arrive on time! There was a customer who missed her reservation time but luckily after waiting for a while she got her table! Also, please remember to fully charge your phone as you may not be able find a table with a power socket nearby. The dining area is nice and the food is just unbelievably good! I have been enjoying Vietnamese food items in many cities in Canada and this restaurant is just one of the best Vietnamese restaurants. It is not just the good favours and it is not just the great taste, but it is the unique way the food was prepared. This is the food that you expected as Vietnamese food, but this is also a surprisingly good food that you don't expected as asian food. The spring rolls are just unforgettable and we ordered the second time after enjoying other food items! Don't forget to enjoy the expresso before continuing your journey! If my schedule is not that tight, I will definitely go back to this restaurant...
