Fantastic meal, and for a British visitor it's a rare treat to have any Khmer food at all, never mind Khmer food this delicious and inexpensive. Staff were friendly and patient with my terrible French.
I also wanted to respond to some other recent English-language reviews, which were critical for weird reasons. One says that there were threatening men blocking the restaurant entrance. I saw those guys the other day too and they were just playing cards. They were a bit noisy but they were not threatening anyone. Also they have nothing to do with Malis anyway. This is a rough and ready area, but safe and friendly. Why be such a delicate flower if you are eating out at Oslo mall? Sadly, I can't help thinking that the guys being black probably explains the perceived threat.
Another recent review complains about being left to wait for 20 mins while other takeaway customers were served, and the customer felt that the other customers being "Asian" was why they were prioritised. This is surely nonsense. If you were ready to order, just hail the staff and order your food. They probably thought you were taking a long time to decide, hence they did the takeaways while they were waiting for you. If you were an English speaking group, huffing and puffing about being ignored, they may have also been plucking up courage to deal with you.
Both these reviews introduced an element of race which leaves a nasty taste in my mouth -- unlike the superb food at Malis. See what...
Read moreTL;DR From my experience, I'd advise you to try one of the other restaurants nearby. The food is good, but not exceptional and you'll get better customer service elsewhere.
We were the first customers to arrive, and while NO ONE else was there, we waited 20min for the waitress to come take our order. We quickly got our drinks, and while we were waiting for our food, other customers came by. All of which asian. A group of 6 old men, and a grandmother with her kids. They have all placed their order, received their food, and had finished eating, while we were still waiting for our food. I don't know why the staff prioritized them, but i did not enjoy my experience at that restaurant. I had the cambodian shrimp noodles, which were okay, and my friend got the beef loc lac, which he liked. I hope you find my comment factual and...
Read moreMy friend and I are visiting Paris and while looking around we found this restaurant.
I ordered fried noodles with beef and my Friend ordered Pork with rice. I'm not exaggerating when I tell you that my friend and I saw the gates of heaven while taking a bite of the most flavorful and juiciest meal we've ever had. The noodles were perfectly fried, and the beef was so tender it melted in my mouth.
The price was also totally fine we paid 14,50 each for the food and a beverage.
The service was also really friendly and helpful. They also knew English and were easy to talk to
