MOSUGO PARIS 14 PAR MORY SACKO — Restaurant in Paris

I do not recommend people go here in the current situation - overall a very disappointing experience here after really looking forward to trying it. Overall the restaurant is lacking in terms of decor - I like minimalism, but it was not done right here and just seemed like they hadn't bothered to do anything. However, the food was the most disappointing as it was just a bland chicken burger. No flavour, and the sauce on it just felt like ketchup and mayonnaise mixed together. It was made worse by the piece of chicken being very small (cut it in half to split it and there was no chicken!) and it also being a massive bun, so really it tasted like bland bread. The teriyaki was similar, but a bit better as that had some sweetness though no other flavour. The only nice things were the sweet potato fries. Aside from this, they are heavily understaffed - we visited on a Friday night. There seemed to be only one waiter who was also the host, meaning he was overstretched and trying his best, though this was unfortunately meant a slow and staggered service. In addition, our food seemingly got lost and took an hour to come because they also are doing take aways at the same time despite being super busy - though I think if it had been 15 minutes I would've still had the same opinion. The waiter was very apologetic and did give us some free food, but this also confirmed for me how bland the chicken was as I got to try it a second time. I really do not recommend coming here in it's current state for a multitude of reasons and needs attention to help it fix it's problems, though maybe the food is not something...

I am afraid that after my third visit, I won't be going back. The first visit (April 2025) I loved the food and had adequate service. The second time I went (May 2025) the food wasn't as good - the chicken sandwich was dry and pretty bland. The service was adequate. The third time I tried to go I had trouble booking an online reservation, so I went to the restaurant. Although it was almost empty at 1:00 p.m., we were told that there were no tables available. I waited outside for a few minutes and tried to book online which showed tables available at 1:30, but I couldn't book the reservation on my phone. I went back inside and politely asked for help. They were not busy - there was only one table with people there. The person in charge told me that he wouldn't help me and that they were booked. I tried to show him that the on-line reservations showed that they had a table available (and there was still no one in the restaurant), but he refused to listen.

Sorry Mosugo - I tried to love you, and in fact brought a present (homemade maple syrup from the US) that I was planning to give the chef, but no, bad service and food that isn't always perfect ruined it for me. Maybe others will have better luck, but it was an embarrassment to be treated so poorly by the staff, especially since I had recommended it to my friends who were with me.

The chicken burger is really a great combination of textures and flavors. There’s a good mix of original spices in the breading, the pretzel bun has an great chew and bite to it and doesn’t break apart from the sauce. The Miso mayo is a really nice touch.

Where it doesn’t come together though, is in the balance of these components - the sauces overpower the taste of the fried chicken (which I assume is meant to be the star). The chicken has a great texture and taste alone but is lost under the taste of the sauces, pickles and buns. It doesn’t really feel like a proper fried chicken sandwich in that sense. Perhaps a thicker cut of chicken would balance that out. All together it felt more bread and condiments than friend chicken sandwich.

Otherwise the sweet potato fries are super crunchy and taste great 5/5 on those.
