Went on rainy saturday with friend as we were craving authentic Indian street food and were overall disappointed with service and few food items. Please find detailed info below : Service - It was okay, I think the person taking order was new. He did not understood the pronounciation of the food we were requesting and had to show the each name on the card everytime which is fine, understandable. We were craving for Masala Chai so we ordered it and were disappointed when he said he could not find it in the ordering system ( though it was available on the menu card). After some time, I had to point it out to him on ordering screen that this is what I want. Ruined our mood little bit. Food : 1. Dahipuri - 10/10 Great taste. 2. Chicken Keema Pav - 8/10 Taste was good. Paav could have been little bit more buttery. 3. Pav Bhaji - 4/10 The curry had nothing but a tangy tomato flavour taste... Not at all what real Pav Bhaji tastes like. Had to ask for salt to balance out the tangy taste. 4. Masala Chai - 7/10 It was okay, could have been better. Very strong Elaichi (cardamon verte) powder and Chai Masala powder in it as the name suggests. Ambiance - Ambiance is nice but 2 seating tables are very near to each other thus very less privacy as other customers are seating very close to you and can hear your conversations. After food Service - We felt we were being rushed to get out of restaurant once we ate as waiter was looking at us continuously barely after 2 mins after we ate.

This restaurant just opened in Sept 2025, and it aims at revisiting the way Indian food is proposed in Paris, looking at what’s available on the other side of the Channel. The result in terms of reception and spirits is a success, attracting 30ish people and mobilizing a very young team behind the long bar and in the dining room. It’s busy but also a slightly bit amateur though everyone tries its best. Food is deceptive. The variety is interesting but the taste is average. It’s good, not very tasty. On the menu, 1 or 2 chili peppers are shown to indicate what plates are hot. It’s not accurate, some plates should be hot but aren’t, for some it’s the opposite, though it’s never hyper spicy. A mild bloating feeling at the end of the meal made me suspect the use of glutamate in the food. You can go there for the good vibes and spend a nice evening though, and it’s not too expensive for an average good experience.

Chers amis français en quête de saveurs authentiques, n’allez surtout pas là 👎 My mom’s from Mumbai, so I went to this restaurant with high hopes only to be disappointed but yet another french palate oriented inauthentic “Indian” restaurant. I have no issues when another nationality runs an Indian restaurant (in this case the head chef is Bangladeshi) but you definitely owe us authentic flavors. The bhaji in the Pav bhaji (a Mumbai classic) falls flat, tastes liquidy and nothing like what authentic bhaji should taste like. The paneer is way too watery and sweet. The chai was watery again. Utterly disappointing experience and whats even sadder is I know the business owners (same ones as Delhi Bazaar) couldn’t care less about feedback about authenticity. Won’t return 👎👎⬇️😕

  1. I'm from Mumbai. And we go often to Delhi Bazaar, and love it.
  2. Interesting and sad to see other reviews that say that Indians are treated differently here (just look at the photos and you can see they are targeting a different demographic as clientele).
  3. I have to specify that we ended up cancelling our dinner reservation after rather looking forward to eating here as fans of Delhi Bazaar. The reason was the unfriendly and disingenuous attitude of the staff upon arriving. The kitchen hadn't opened but all the other (white French) couples were being shown to the bar or tables to order drinks while waiting. I was summarily asked to go away and return when the kitchen opened, no suggestions to stay and get a drink (shame, we would have happily spent some more money). The servers/staff were all busy chatting away at a table and probably didn't want too many tables to serve before opening time (which is understandable), just the ethnic profiling in 2025 isn't a great look, especially for a desi restaurant.

If someone from the management is reading this, maybe try and do a better job making everyone feel welcome. It's not difficult and will probably help...

I write this review with disappointment and a lot of love. I visited Mumbai cafe with very high expectations. As someone who lived in Mumbai for a long time before moving to Paris, the menu items greatly excited me. A place like this is sorely missing from the Parisian dining scene, and I went as soon as I could after the opening. The food was a huge disappointment for anyone who has actually eaten in India. It lacked nuance, flavour and depth and is catered to a western palette in a way that makes it very inauthentic. I understand that food probably needs to be less spicy for the target audience, but I don’t understand it lacking flavour? The iconic Bombay sandwich which is the most beloved street food in the city, it felt like it even lacked adequate salt! I hope these are teething issues and the restaurant is able to upgrade its good to exhibit how good food in India can really taste. You have the platform and the ability, I hope to see some changes because I truly wish for you to be not only successful but also a true representative of India!

Positive points: the decor was fantastic, as was...
