Tucked away on Rue Saint-Lazare sits the mighty Noûsh.
Dinky dual level restaurant with a surprising menu.
Three of us dined upstairs on a cute balcony table and started by ordering a small selection of their tapas and some apéritif. We had the crispy chicken, salmon and truffle cheese, which was perfect amount shared between us. Dishes were nicely plated, and food was delicious.
We followed with one of the mains of the day, Argentinian steak with mangetout, asparagus and polenta chip, a mushroom linguine with parmesan mousse and a homemade burger with all the trimmings.
These were all fantastic, great portions and beautifully served. The pasta was light and almost refreshing, while the steak and burger had a solid meaty vibe and was perfectly cooked!
We shared a nice bottle of Syrah and some table water and everything worked really well.
Despite being pretty full we wanted to try the desserts and had all three, a lemon shortcake with lemon sorbet, chocolate fondant with poached pear and vanilla ice cream and a crème brulee. Honestly I've had better brulee but the chocolate dish was exceptional. Rich and smooth and the pear worked perfectly!
So, what wasn't quite right? Well the service was average. Having to wait long periods to receive drinks or the bill. When our starters were cleared our server just removed our used cutlery and placed it on the table ready for the next course!! Service seemed forced and quite unfriendly and apart from a wine recommendation it was a bit far from the great food.
For three we paid around €160 which isn't bad, but personally I left feeling like the food carried the whole experience.
I would go back, but with less...

Food - Excellent. It has both options (vegetarian and non-vegetarian). Excellent options for drinks. The fish was amazing and the chicken was tender. There was a delicate balance in flavors which was managed very well. Kudos to the chef.
Service - Well, it was a little slow. Not that I'm complaining since we were out for a leisurely evening. So, the waiting time for food to arrive was something, nobody noticed or had issues with. Not sure if everyone would be ok with it.
Atmosphere: Wonderful. The location is best. It's surrounded by cafes all around. A nice vibe of Paris city and it's night life engulfs in this area. It feels lively around here. The place itself has very cozy atmosphere. Though it gets a little cramped with large group. Interiors are very tastefully planned.
Summary: Go for a nice and relaxed evening and you would have...
Read moreHands down the best dinner experience I've ever had. Every dish is meticulously prepared with each ingredient serving it's own purpose and the marriage of the ingredients elevating each other in flavour. I've never visited a restaurant where this was true for every single dish I tried.
My girlfriend and I tried four tapas - the salmon, bouef carpacce, the cod and the crusted chicken. Each dish worthy of being a speciality in a restaurant.
For the main course - we had the steak with pepper sauce on side and fries. An excellent cut, cooked to perfection.
The creme brulee was perfect to finish our meal.
The place has a rustic charm and the atmosphere only adds to the dining experience. Will definitely visit again if...
