SoPi Trattoria — Restaurant in Paris

We came in for dinner and cocktails on 30th November. Unfortunately, our experience was absolutely terrible. We were waiting for the waiter to come, but after 20 minutes of waiting I had to go over and ask him if he could take our order. When he came we placed our order, which included a cucumber gin and tonic. When the waiter brought us a regular gin and tonic, we said we didn’t order it, he said they are out of cucumber and we have to pay for it because they already made the drink. The cappuccino they gave us was the worst one I have ever seen or tasted, absolutely terrible. Then when we got our food served, we didn’t get any cutlery or napkins, so we had to go ask for it. The pizza was very stale and the texture was not right.

The only positive thing about this place is the atmosphere inside, the premises are decorated absolutely beautifully and the whole place gives out a very nice and cozy vibe. Unfortunately it is not enough to make up for the absolutely terrible service and the attitude of the staff. Will NOT return, do...

First we almost did not eat here because of some of those bad reviews but we are so glad we stayed. The advantage is we went early because by 8:00 pm on a Sunday it started getting busy. The servings are large and the Focaccia was incredible!! The spaghetti a la bolognese was served in a copper/aluminum pan to keep it fresh, hot and easy on the eyes!

Now, I’m not a dessert eater but the tiramisu was to die for! Can’t get over how wonderful the flavors combine into the most delightful dessert. We had two glasses of the house red wine, which was good (because there’s no bad wine) but I’m into a more hearty bold wine.

We took some focaccia to accompany some olives at home and shared with my choice...

Faccio questa recenzione in italiano affinché gli italiani in visita a Parigi che come me cercano un posto dove mangiare italiano, possano stare alla larga da questo posto, che definirei sinteticamente pessimo. Io personalmente mi sono fermato in questo posto perché mio figlio di 10 anni non mangia molte cose ed, essendo la prima volta all'estero, volevo che trovasse dei piatti familiari. Nella fattispecie abbiamo visto, dal menu posto all'esterno, che servivano pasta fresca / fatta in casa. Come condimenti era presente il pesto (anche se con aggiunta di altri improbabili ingredienti abbinati: burrata). Abbiamo allora ordinato orecchiette al pesto senza aggiunta di altro. È arrivata una padella con delle "conchiglie" (la pasta che noi usiamo per i legumi) ultrascotta con del pesto. La pasta a tratti era di colore scuro, come fosse bruciata. Evidentemente era stata saltata in padella in maniera sconclusionata. Per me ho ordinato una pizza margherita che era palesemente NON preparata al momento bensì riscaldata o "rinvenuta" a partire da un prodotto surgelato. Mia moglie ha mangiato una insalata, così definta nel menu, che invece era una collazione di verdure grigliate sott'olio (quindi NON preparate al momento). L'arredamento posticcio, ricco di oggetti finti appesi qua e là. Piante di plastica, prosciutti di plastica, forme di parmigiano di plastica. E quando i prosciutti appesi sono veri, anche se sottovuoto, sorge il dubbio sulla qualità della conservazione essendo appesi nella sala insieme a luci, calore ecc. Il proprietario NON è italiano né lo è il personale e men che meno il cuoco. Il tutto alla modica...
