Decided to try this place. The food was excellent. We had the ham, cheese, and mushroom omelet. Cooked to perfection just like I would make at home. It's paired with a small fresh greens salad and an ample amount of French fries. We finished the meal with a Nutella crepe they my wife adored. Our waiter was great and went out of his way to help me understand the menu. Many reviews stated how bad English speaking people are treated poorly. We never experienced any issues. The atmosphere gets one star. This place is located right across the street from the train station, and the entrance to the front of the station is filled with all kinds of less than desirable characters. Nothing says welcome to Paris like this crappy welcoming committee. I know this isn't the restaurants problem, but it seems like they welcome some of this on themselves by allowing these guys to fill the outside seats while they sip a coffee and light their cigarettes. But the saddest of all is the poor condition of the bathrooms. Neither toilets for either sex had toilet seats. I should have left right then as I was telling my wife how awful they were. But I continued to watch people come in off the street to take a leak and then go right back out. It's obvious from previous reviews that the seats have been missing for some time. If the reviews keep sinking lower, maybe they will clean up their act because their food and their location are great for a last stop place to eat. The prices were more than reasonable. Did I mention how great my waiter was?

I ate here twice on my recent trip to Paris, and the first evening was very enjoyable - I selected a hamburger with the most delicious frittes (french fries) and it was lovely. Philipe who looked after us was a delight and I was so impressed... Unfortunately I made the mistake of returning a few nights later, by myself this time (this cafe was very close to my hotel) and the service was very average (although to be fair there seemed to be a single waiter serving a large number of tables), I ordered escagot which I usually enjoy, but this dish was disappointing as the snails were gritty and there was a distinct "soil" flavour which I have never experienced before (and yes, I have eaten them on many occasions before). There was a steady stream of visitors, most of whom did not linger, and many of whom did not speak French, but I tried my best and the staff were always great with my hesitant attempts to request things. Not a terrible place to eat, but there are probably more consistently good places if you look around.

I would call this restaurant a „trap for tourists“. I ordered a steak (medium) with green beans and potatoes. Well, i'd like to teach the cook how to roast a steak myself. As i say, i ordered a medium streak, but it was rare on the one side, medium in the middle and well done on the other side! I would have done it better, for sure. Additional to that the steak was black burned on many spots, as you can see on the picture (the whole meal looks better than it was, actually...). It tasted to that effect. The beans lukewarm – nothing more to say. But they tasted good with the garlic, so one positive thing at least. The potatoes – pretty sure they were from the day before - just heated.... For my guess they serve the tourists (customers who for 99 % don't come back) the food they would throw away or don't serve the locals at least. I'd recommend you to look for another place for diner!

Could not find 0 star This is what this place deserves.

Just step into the outdoor space, sit with my Sister.

8/10 minutes after the “ garçon” arrived and “what will you have?”

My orders her limonade and me i just said “ hummm let me think…” Right away his answer “ it would be more Practical for you to know now as I have Other clients in and out”

Facing this Such welcoming attitude I decided not to have anything.

This rude event could have stopped Here but NO! Seems in these “ Café” the background attitude is rudeness! another Garçon came later on to ask me “ what do you drink?”

I repeated “ nothing thank you” What happens next was unreal! Telling us that we sit wrong as we were only 2 persons using two tables … I mentioned to him the words are of his Colleague and Off course he agreed with him …

he continued talking also standing in the front of us - Im not saying the The GARE DU NORD “ view is kind Of releasing but having this dump garçons Letting go his frustration and such not Professional behavior catching all the view and time!

We left like we came

Not at all sure this place could get anything better than 0 star...
