My girlfriend and I arrived on Bastille Day around 8pm. The restaurant was open and in full operation despite the holiday.
We had a reservation, and after queuing for a bit, a waiter approached—but instead of checking us in, he raised his finger and started talking to the group next to us (they were also English-speaking and kindly pointed out that we were ahead of them—if you're reading this, thank you!). When I mentioned we had a reservation, the waiter said "No", gave us a weird look, and walked away without much explanation. Eventually, he returned and led us to a table out back.
It took a while for anyone to come take our order, though our entrees did arrive relatively quickly once placed. Unfortunately, our main courses took about an hour and a half to arrive, and when they did, my girlfriend’s dish was incorrect—despite her pointing directly to it on the menu. They brought her actual order out about 10 minutes later.
When it came time to pay, it was a bit awkward. I’d recommend waiting for staff to bring the bill, as asking for it seemed to be unwelcome—one staff member even gave me a bit of a look when I inquired.
All that said, the food itself was good, which helped balance out the experience. It's hard to say whether the chaotic service was due to the Bastille Day crowds or just how things usually go, but either way, the service left something...
Read moreEDIT: Came back for dinner and the food was great but the service was AWEFUL! The bald manager flat out told us he doesn't like serving to people with kids and usually tells them they have no place left. So if you have kids, don't come here as they made it clear kids aren't very welcome because they're noisy and take up space of a paying client, and even made us feel guilty for going out to dinner with kids because according to him, there's good parents that's keep their kids home and then there's parents that don't. As I said before, the food is good but it's Paris and you can find better with great kind and friendly Service anywhere else.
Hands down my favorite place for pizza! They have the best diavola pizza I've had in Paris (and I've had a lot). The ambiance is great and the prices are fair. The cocktails are on the larger side and priced fair for being Paris. The service is excellent and fast. This is my go-to safe place because I know it will be great all...
Read moreI felt very disrespected… On a rainy day, the restaurant seated us at the edge of the awning, and the area around our seats was wet. When we asked to change seats, the server simply moved the table slightly inward without actually relocating us. Clearly, there were still available seats indoors or in covered areas that wouldn’t get wet — even until we finished our meal — but the staff chose not to accommodate us. It left a very bad impression.
When it came time to pay, we noticed other tables were offered tableside payment. After informing the server we were ready to settle the bill, he remained standing by the counter and didn’t appear to be busy with anything else — yet he never came over. In the end, we had to go to the counter ourselves to pay.
It makes us wonder — was this treatment because we are Asian? Do we somehow deserve to be discriminated against?
The one star is for the food, which was still...
