This is the perfect hotel for a touristic trip to Paris. Great location literally on top of a subway station providing entry to several of the best subway lines for a touristic trip: one heading north to Concorde in two stops (and onward), and the other heading east into St Germain and the Latin Quarter, including stopping at St Michel where one can transfer to the RER B to CDG airport. While most of the main tourist areas were insanely packed with tourists (worse than any of my previous trips to France, including when I worked in France), this hotel, while still centrally located, is just far enough to be in an area not overrun with tourists. (It’s also walking distance to the Eiffel Tower (say a 15 min walk or so).). There was a fantastic selection of restaurants, boulangeries and supermarkets as well as other convenient stuff such as a chemist literally on the same block as the hotel. I cannot overstate how great I found the location, and I say this as someone who lived in a 5 star hotel off the Champs Elysees for three months in a previous life and who also previously lived in apartments in St Germain and in the 5th. I was not sure about staying in the 15th (although it’s really basically the 7th) but it was great.
Turning to the hotel itself, this would not necessarily be the best choice for a business person on a business trip because there are limited lobby facilities and there is not a great setup for working in the hotel room. But it was great for a vacation. Every single person at the front desk was extremely kind and helpful. I spoke to them in French, but they were very kind to people speaking English, as well as my kids who are learning and wanted to practice their French. We stayed in a triple room and it was very good. There was a “double bed”, which was really basically a king, and a generously sized single bed. The room was in great condition (recently renovated, I would guess). The beds were comfortable with all white crisp bedding, there was very nice wallpaper, and clean carpets. I especially appreciated that there was very good lighting. I cannot stand dim hotel rooms where you can’t see well when you are getting dressed. The room was not massive but there was plenty of room for three large suitcases and it was very cleverly designed with thoughtful touches like extra towels below the sink and lots of shelves and places to hang things. There was a USB port next to each bed for charging phones, which was a nice touch. (The old school USB A, not C.) The separate toilet room was small but the toilet was one of those new fancy models with a built in bidet. The shower was again not massive but had a very nice large waterfall shower head as well as a separate handheld shower head. Standard amenities like shampoo, conditioner, lotion and a hair dryer (hidden behind the safe) were provided. Water pressure was good and there was plenty of hot water. The sink was quite shallow and slow to drain but in the scheme of things that was a minor annoyance. Two other big pluses: the air conditioning was very strong. It was a boiling hot 98 degrees F (around 36 C?) when we arrived in Paris yet our room was freezing. (Controls are in the room so you can warm it up if you want.) We really appreciated this. Second, there was a fridge, which was helpful since we bought food for snacks and breakfast from the Franprix across from the hotel and the excellent Boulangerie around the corner from the hotel instead of paying for the breakfast. Also, there was a great Nespresso machine. We had no utensils but the front desk happily gave us a corkscrew to use as well as knives and forks.
All in, we had a great stay at Hotel Tourisme Avenue and I would happily stay here again. I researched a lot of hotels before selecting this one and in my view it ticks more boxes than other hotels in this...

The Bad: The rooms are teeny tiny. Apparently this is standard throughout Paris so I'm not holding it against them, but we struggled with just putting our suitcases in a place where we weren't constantly tripping over them. We almost upgraded to a larger room for an additional cost but we realized we spent such little time in the rooms themselves it wouldn't be worth it. You're so close to everything amazing, put your suitcases in the room and go. You're not in Paris to sit in a room and watch TV.
The good: Literally everything else. Location is perfect, perfect, perfect. Not overrun with tourists despite close proximity to the Eiffel Tower, probably 10 minute walk. Did not feel in danger at any point during our stay, safe location, no panhandlers. You are above a Starbucks (I know, I know) but when you're up for 20 hours and need a jolt you can walk with, it's a Godsend. Our first day, despite the fact we were exhausted and jetlagged, we still mustered the energy to make the quick (and lovely!) walk to Rue Cler, get wine and cheese and bread, and make our way to Eiffel Tower for an incredible picnic dinner. You're also right across the street from the Metro so getting anywhere, anytime is a breeze. There's also restaurants nearby, cafes, and a bar we frequented several times we liked it so much down the street.
Breakfast: Delicious! Coffee, baguettes, cheeses, meats, pastries, nutella, hard/soft boiled eggs, juices. I would watch the staff rush in and out with fresh baguettes from nearby bakeries, slicing them up for you. Saved us a ton of money for the quality breakfast we would have paid more for nearby (coffee alone would have been 4-5 euro at nearby restaurants).
Staff: Very courteous, polite, accommodating, helpful, English fluent.
Decor: Beautiful, modern.
Room Cleanliness, bathroom quality, water pressure etc: Perfect
For the price it can't be beat. I absolutely LOVE hotel...
Read moreOur stay at Hotel Tourisme Avenue was truly exceptional, and I can't help but gush about the wonderful experience we had. From the moment we arrived, the staff displayed an impressive level of kindness, politeness, and helpfulness. We arrived early on the day of check-in, and the front desk team went out of their way to accommodate us by providing a room ahead of the official check-in time.
The room we were assigned was a real gem - it was not only clean but also wonderfully up to date, offering a comfortable and pleasant ambiance. It was evident that the hotel takes pride in maintaining its rooms to a high standard, and we certainly appreciated it. The heated toilet seat was a game changer for us. We’ve never experienced anything that magical before and you bet that we enjoyed every time we sat on it to take care of business ahahahah.
Now, there’s a potential downside - the subway located underground of the hotel. However, I must say that it didn't disrupt our sleep or make us feel uncomfortable in any way. The hotel is insulated well which seemed quite effective, allowing us to enjoy a peaceful night's rest.
One of the highlights of our stay was undoubtedly the hotel's fantastic location. Everything we wanted to explore was conveniently close by, making our travel experience that much more enjoyable.
In conclusion, we had an excellent stay at Hotel Tourisme Avenue, largely thanks to the exceptional staff, the clean and comfortable room, and the unbeatable location. Despite the subway's proximity, it didn't detract from our experience, and we're already looking forward to our next visit to this wonderful hotel. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!
