So I was looking for a quiet and beautiful place to meet up with a friend on a Saturday afternoon. All the cafés and restaurants on the avenue were crowded and this place was not listed as a café on Google Maps so I almost didn’t find it. I was walking past it to go to another place when I noticed the yellow and the blue, the original shopfront. First impression from outside: it’s a place for rich 20-sth to study for their exams quietly. Works for me. (I’m neither rich nor in my twenties)
I walked in: 35% occupied. Could be quieter (the music was a bit loud but it was French classics and then I don’t know if the volume went down or I just got used to it…🤔)
The first staff member who welcomed me was quite rude, forcing me to pick a seat like it’s not an important decision. Am I bothering anyone just standing there looking for the right seat for me and my friend? Probably. But she could’ve been nice. She was immediately replaced by a very nice waiter who agreed to clean up the one free table I had deemed perfect. My friend arrived right before I sat down, with her beautiful tiny dog. The waiter offered to bring a bowl of water for the furry friend and it was a very beautiful bowl.
Don’t look up if you’re trypophobic. Those yellow lamps tho…😅
I ordered a tiramisu, the very first one of the year and it was delicious! I love how the slice is big enough for that amount of money (€10). My friend had some burrata and she loved it too. It was 3pm so the pizza oven was closed. I had some tea, it was unfortunately lukewarm and they don’t offer any honey as a sweetening option. It is not wheelchair accessible. Let alone if you want to go to the toilets downstairs. That’s when you realize the “stairs” in “downstairs”.
Oh on my way to the restrooms I realized there was also a bar and a smoker’s area that had much more people than the non-smoking part where I stayed.
The restrooms are a bit confusing: pink for the dudes and blue for the ladies and both ladies and gentlemen are written is Italian. 😅 Just...
Read moreHonestly, if i could put zero stars i would. First, i had to wait 30 minutes for the menu to come. Ah no wait, i had to ASK FOR IT AFTER 30 MINUTES because no waitress would care to bring it or to ask me and my husband if we wanted to order something. We ordered finally a bruschetta to share and 2 pizzas Diavola ONE FOR EACH. The bruschetta was very regular, you can get a way much better one at another italian restaurant. The pizza was a joke, theres no other word for it. First they brought just one cut in half in two different plates (everyone knows that a cut pizza gets cold faster so i needed to eat it in a rush) when i told another employee about their mistake his reaction was “okay i bring you another one” without even looking at me or apologizing for their mistake like a normal and polite person would do. They brought the other pizza and this one is uncut! LOL!! How am I supposed to share with my husband the other half?!?!?!? Ridiculous the logic of these people..
And as if it wasn’t enough, while we were struggling with the second pizza another waitress comes to ask if we could share the table with other people because it was raining and there was no more tables available. So the intruders sat down and the woman that was next to me lights up a cigarette on my face and all the smoke was going to my food (this was the most unbelievable part to me to be really) so i had to order the bill while I still had the pizza in my mouth because I couldn’t take it anymore.
In summary, i have had a better experience ordering a kebab in Uber Eats. Please dont waste your time and money in this...
Read moreWe went to Claudia twice during our visit to Paris. The first time was for lunch, the restaurant was busy and the female server was attentive, friendly and efficient. Food was great too.
The second time we went for dinner, the restaurant wasn't too busy, maybe half full. We had a younger male server who constantly tried to upsell us and tried to scam us. I wanted to order a glass of wine, and the server suggested a different & pricier wine, to which I agreed. He came back with a bottle and when I said I only wanted a glass, he said this wine only comes in a bottle. I told him a bottle was too much wine and only wanted a glass. He kept trying to get me to take the bottle and I politely told him to bring me just a glass of another wine, which he eventually did.
During dinner we were brought a 2nd glass of wine without us ordering, to which we told them we didn't order a 2nd glass and to take it back. When it was time to pay for the bill, the server pointed to the computer screen which had a total of over €100 and asked "is this ok?". Knowing this was much more than we had ordered, I asked him to print the bill for us. He adjusted something on the computer and printed a bill that was just over €60 with no explanation of why he wanted to charge us over €100 a minute earlier. This guy is worse than the people trying to scam you at tourist attractions, and he did it all with a sly smile as if we dumb tourists didn't know what he was trying to do. The name on the bill was Sisi, I don't know if that's his name, but watch out for him.
Food was...
