We had a reservation for 3 people on a Sunday. We got there (two out of three people first) and we had to wait 15 minutes in line to get in, even though we had a reservation. Once in, they did not seat us because the 3rd person was not there yet. She called to expalin and then we got seated. The place was pacccccked. We were seated in a corner indoor by the entrance. The staff's atitute was like you should not be seated unless the 3rd person arrives. Food: we ordered tajine, me one with lamb and vegetables and the other person got tajine with kofte. Let's say my portion was decent but the dish had no taste, beans uncooked. It was also supposed to arrive with a side of cous cous, they brought 1 couscous for 2 tajines, even though each tajine was supposed to have it's own side dish.
The kofte tajine was so small, there were just 3 koftes and each was 2cm large and few tbsps of sauce. For 22 euro...
In the end we had to wait for about 40 min for someone to bring the bill. They charged me for a big water even though I ordered small. I honestly think it was a councious mistake (glad I noticed it before paying).
My friend also ordered tea for 3 people: 7.5 EUR. the glasses are small. This prices and place it's totally not worth it.
The only nice thing it's the restaurant's design but that also it's quite messy.
I don't recommend going there. You can eat in like Saint Germain for the same price and for good quality. Also the staff would not treat you like garbage in any other place.
I would give 0/0 stars if I could. Also, we needed to eat somewhere else right after. The...
Read moreThis is a Moroccan Restaurant nicely designed to make you fee you are eating at a good restaurant in Morocco. Its both gardens and interior have nice furnishings.
They serve a mint tea with honey when you just ask for a tea. I was expecting black tea thinking as if it was “the” tea :) I was wrong. Still, what they brought was pretty good.
I witnessed some interesting restaurant culture here. There are 3 different waiters here serving different kinds of foods and drinks. You order tea from the waiter who takes beverage orders. He walks between tables and asks if you want any drink. You pay the price of the drink you order to him separately, right after he serves you the drink. Then a waiter comes to your table with a tray full of deserts to show and sell them to you. If you buy anything from him, you pay him right away, too. Lastly, there is a waiter for everything else (I guess). He is more busy and can be found a little harder. You pay whatever you order from him when you leave the restaurant. This culture was a pretty strange one.
The baqlavah we ate here was plain. There was nothing in it. That made me pretty surprised. I, once again, made sure that there is no better baqlavah than Turkish Baklava. I have been trying it every restaurant that serves it but still they can’t be compared with Turkish Baklava.
Lastly, don’t forget to visit the mosque which gives the restaurant its name. You will have the chance to see the awesome...
Read more…..What an awesome lunch experience here at this exquisite Moroccan restaurant in the heart of the Latin quarters. Patrons were jostling to get in as you don’t have to book but pitch up and be patient to be seated on the terrace, upstairs terrace, garden, side-rooms, wherever they have place in this massive restaurant. Some just come to savor the taste-ii sweet mint-tea with a delicate savory/sweet tart. We come for a full on lunch: We ordered soups love-lii prepared with lamb and chickpeas so flavorful.A Tagine lamb-stew with olives and pickled lemon, so unique and insidious-lii delicious served with Couscous. We also had a Chef’s special of Grills which is a platter of lamb-chop, meat-ball, skewer of lamb cutlets and sausage served with a bowl of veg sautéed in a flavored gravy. Again a very first time experience with real Moroccan cuisine. It tantalizes the taste buds. And we just had to finish this stunning meal with Sweet Moroccan mint-tea which is artfully poured when the waiter pours your tea into the little glasses on his tray he lifts his hand till over his head skill fully pouring tea into all the glasses that are still on the tray and the delicious Oriental-treats in the likes of baklava etc, etc….This is a must visit for everyone but you need to have lots...
