Disappointing. Having been to many Michelin star restaurants, this was the worst I’ve experienced and not worthy of a star.
Food was bland, missing a kick or element of surprise in each dish.
Wine pairing was fully biological/natural without mentioning up front, not my favorite and really expensive (70 euros per person) for four 10cl glasses. Not possible to do half a pairing; likely because there would hardly be any wine left to pour. Wine was not exceptional as you would expect.
Pairing was four glasses for five courses - the “pre-dessert” was not a full course - but conveniently would be included when the menu is sold as a 5-course meal.
Service minimal, limited English and hard to hear. Lighting in the restaurant was not cosy, lights off next to us, bright lights on the other end of the place.
Overall ruined the night and Michelin stars for me in France.
Only star it deserves is the one-star rating in...
Read more#4 cf list Michelin Star Challenge French restaurant with a Japanese chef that assumes his origin. We have a lot of Japanese chefs in Paris. This one is actually the second restaurant from a Japanese chef (Neige d été, review to come but a big backlog…) The nice thing is that the Japanese origin are fully assumed but yet it’s not a Japanese restaurant, it’s a French one at the end of the day. So it’s not just the quality of execution and its precision that you enjoy, but you also have a little bit of exoticism without taking any gustatory risk. The crowd was “casual lunch” (casual for a one star… ). I went there with a friend to catch up. I did feel I was not the only one. It does...
Read moreThe reason for two stars is they offered apertifs to start but failed to mention that the glass of champagne from a magnum that wasn't properly chilled would be 32 euros and a cocktail of what simply seemed to be gin and lime juice would be 24 euros. I thought it was in poor taste to offer this for such a price. The place was nearly empty, so it seemed like they were trying to squeeze as much money as possible from the customer. The food and service was not bad, but not as good as a restaurant with a Michelin star should be. Three out of the five dishes were also quite boring I thought. Much better options in the city and I would...
