I was really excited to visit this place today, as it looks absolutely unique and has incredible potential. However, our experience was sadly quite disappointing.
Upon arrival, we saw a sign saying “wait to be seated”, so we politely waited by the entrance. After a while, we noticed two staff members sitting at the bar, completely absorbed in their phones and paying no attention to the customers. After about five minutes, we approached and asked if we could sit, only to be told that we first had to order at the counter.
We placed our order with a rather cold and unwelcoming staff member, feeling like we were an annoyance rather than guests. The banana bread, priced at €4.50 for a very thin slice, felt overpriced—though we understand it’s Marais. The matcha lattes were decent, but served lukewarm.
Throughout our visit, the staff kept changing the music, constantly fiddling with the speakers, which was distracting and frankly irritating.
It’s such a shame, because the space itself is stunning and unlike anything else in Paris. The venue has enormous potential, but unfortunately, the unprofessional service really overshadows what could otherwise be a...
Read moreI love finding unique, one of a kind spots a little off the beaten path with great food or drinks. This cozy little spot checks all of those boxes.
I arrived and was really enamored with the atmosphere. The shop had the feel of an ancient coffee shop from the 19th century. The decor was wonderfully done - with historic plates and furniture that matched the theme. They were spot on with matching everything with the overall theme. It was super charming.
While they had plenty of wine and coffee drinks, they also appear to provide many offerings for those who do not care for vino or Java. They had a delightful hot cocoa with plenty of flavor and even better latte art. My only question is what do you call art on a hot chocolate…..cocoa art???
The staff was so pleasant and polite. They were super friendly and kindly encouraged customers not to use their laptops - they do their best to keep the historic vibe…..only real intelligence in this place (no AI needed).
I strongly encourage others to go find this charming, cozy little shop. It’s well worth the adventure and will make you feel like you’re traveling back in time to the days of the...
Read moreI was really looking forward visiting this cafe but unfortunately I didn’t even make it inside due to the waiter not respecting the order of the queue and the costumers wishes. After 30 minutes I finally got to the front of the queue and I was offered a seat at the bar, but I replied that I wanted to wait for a table instead. The girls behind me were okay with sitting at the bar so they walked in before me. About 20 minutes later I could see two people leaving a table, thinking that that table would be offered to me since I asked for it. But no, the girls that accepted the bar seats rushed to get that table. I walked in and talked to the waiter about this, but he didn’t see anything wrong with it and I was again offered a seat at the bar. In that situation the waiter should have asked the girls to go back to the seats they accepted. And given me the seat I wished for. That way everyone would have been happy. Instead I left feeling badly treated and disappointed. I wasted time and energy getting myself to the cafe and waiting in line. It was not a...
