Maybe I went at a bad time but the reception of the older woman was cold after I spoke in English. I felt unwelcomed. I sat for a while as she ignored me, I almost got up to leave. The coffee, capuccino was watered down and kind of cold. Then the salad that came with the omelette was slimy and withered. The only redeeming quality of my experience was the male waiter who took my order after his smoke break. He was kind and tried to make me smile as I was clearly disappointed. I practically flew out of there. Just my experience, I'm sure it's not a bad place just make sure you're fluent in French to receive a better reception unfortunately.

*i wish what you said were true. She went on to laugh and converse with the 4 other people that were in the restaurant so just from my observation it seemed otherwise. And I would have said something more of the food but I just didn’t want to eat there anymore given how uncomfortable I felt....

I was totally disappointed in the scones which did not rise to the expectations nor exactly resemble the pictures taken by other customers online. Mine were over baked, did not achieve the height most scones rise too, (not enough levening?), thus we're as hard as a rock outside and not soft and buttery inside. Matter of fact, one of the worst scones I've had in a restaurant. I can bake good soft scones when I'm home, so I would be embarrassed to serve these scratch baked ones to anyone without a disclaimer that the cook overbaked them and offer to bake more or refund the money (8,00 euros, if given a choice, which the waitress chose to do neither, when I pointed this out to her. She just shrugged it off saying she doesn't do the baking, and just serves the food. That kind of response won't increase business, if that's what you're hoping for. Stay away from this place, when you have other amazing choices...

I had high hopes for given its reputation and hefty price tag, but unfortunately, it fell short in almost every area. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a polished atmosphere, but that was about where the positives ended.

First, the menu was promising. However, the food itself was a major letdown. Each dish lacked depth in flavor. The seasoning was barely noticeable, leaving many of the ingredients tasting bland and uninspired. The presentation was fine, but taste is ultimately what matters, and sadly, this restaurant missed the mark.

For the price, I expected far more than just average food.

Service was decent, though nothing extraordinary.

Overall, I won't be returning. If you're looking for flavorful food that justifies the expense, there are much better...

Delicious food: the scones were buttery but light and came with orange and strawberry jams + butter; The English breakfast plate was great, especially the bacon (thick and chewy, real taste of meat) and eggs (rich and creamy). Service is fast and the place is beautiful with intricate decor. Sadly the place is really popular, cramped and quite expensive. It was difficult to hear a person across the tiny table and the tea pot only has 2,5 cups of tea while you're paying 6+ euros for the teabag. Maybe if you come in at an unconventional time there'd be less noise, but the tables are arranged in such a way that it's a bit of a maze even without people sitting at them. If you're going I'd suggest making a reservation just in case.
