I'll admit, I was disappointed. Even more disappointed in the owners immature response to my honest review, showing an inability to accept fair criticism and grow. Cons: For 26€, your getting really sad portions and quality of food. Our party of 4 all ordered a range of breakfast plates, and all of us agreed it was not worth what we spent. You have the illusion that it'll be quality and a large plate, with fresh juice and tea/coffee, your main plate, and then bread and spreads. The reality is you get a basket of bread and jam for the table to share (not an issue) but your main plate is a little, well, lame looking and tasting. The English Breakfast had 5 small sauted mushroom pieces, a lonely little sausage, and baked beans that were barely warm and seemed from a can. Others who had salad served with their meal noted it was just chopped up romaine lettuce sitting on the plate, nothing more. Pros: The fresh juice, eggs, and bread were nice, as was the tea selection. The servers all seemed to speak English, if needed. The atmosphere is also very sweet. Birds in a cage sing occasionally and a dog wanders around looking for scraps. Be advised if that would bother you. Overall: Not good value for your money. We knew going here we would spend around 25-30€ per person, however, at that price for eggs and bread (some of the cheapest things for a restaurant to serve) we expected something better than average. I wouldn't recommend and I unfortunately won't come back.
Edit: Rather than admit that a customer might be speaking some truth in their opinion, the owner was insulting and not open to critisim in what was an honest, fair, and thoughtful review. I'm not paid to write reviews. I write them to help owners learn and improve and let others people know what to expect. No one is perfect. To the owner, I did not write this to hurt you in any way. I wrote this to help you be better. Humans help humans. Please, put your ego aside and try to be open to reviews, you'll keep customers coming back and stay up to date on market trends. AND if you had responded with kindness, rather than insulting me, with the adult ability to listen and accept honest feedback, maybe more people would come back to try your food...
Read moreDetailed review & warning ⚠️ of food poisoning 🤢 😷: I came here for an anniversary Brunch with my partner because I was REALLY craving a hearty American breakfast and had passed by Twinkie because I worked nearby.
I was impressed with what they are able to churn out of such a TINY kitchen. Despite the whopping €26.50 per 'plate' I was pleasantly surprised to find out it came with a hot and cold drink (fresh pressed juice 😃) as well as assorted bread... but then again disappointed when my "American Breakfast" came and the scrambled eggs looked soggy and were served in a bowl? (After I ate the eggs —because I was starving I put ketchup for dipping in the bowl which is what you see in the picture).
No orange juice available 😕, and the fresh pressed juice that is offered is good, but would probably made better if it was strained— getting bits of apple skin stuck at the back of the throat us not fun 😔.
There is no "pancake stack" offered, just a single pancake. Also the pancake was undercooked and tasted more like flour in my mouth when I chewed it than anything else. Because of the volume of people in the restaurant, and the flustered state of the madame, the long wait already etc, I did not muster the courage to send the pancake back. 🥲
My partner ordered the "Frokost" —eggs Benedict with smoked salmon. I was admittedly jealous and instantly regretted my choices after tasting his plate. Only reason why the review is not 1 star
The couple who owns seems to also be the only two servers, aided by a couple of buss boys. The woman seems perpetually flustered and the service is not all that friendly. Also their lovely little Kings Charles Spaniel 🐕🐶🐾hangs out freely in the restaurant (I actually really enjoyed his presence, but if you're allergic to dogs beware).
The worst part of all was the fact that the food ended up making me and my partner sick🤢, and so the activities we had planned for the rest of the day were either cut short or cancelled.
Dommage. I was really rooting for this Brunch place, but I don't think I'll ever be...
Read moreIf you’re craving an avocado toast - that’s the right place. Topped with cream cheese and guacamole, squeezed lemon, pomegranate and poached eggs. Also delicious turmeric latte - perfect balance of sweet and spiced. Highly recommended. The service was fast but I came early. This place is popular, so you might need to be patient if there’s more people. It’s a small cafe and kitchen, so let them take their time to cook the delicious food for you :) Servers are nice and calm. A particular lady (brown hair) is very welcoming and nice - seems like the owner. She kindly asked if everything tasted good, and also apologized for the delay at the table next to mine. 👍🏼Great
What did upset me a little bit, are the comments below…some people genuinely shared their negative experience, and whoever responds on behalf of the cafe is pretty rude in the comments. Saying things like «If we could rate customers you’d have an empty star» - is a pretty dangerous game to play if you rely on Google maps to guide new customers into your cafe. It’s important to accept criticism :) it allows you to grow. Sometimes it’s better to apologize and offer a free drink next time - that won’t hurt your business but will definitely improve the perception of people who read those comments before choosing the cafe. Just a small suggestion :)
Overall, I’ll definitely come back for another avocado toast, turmeric latte and nice atmosphere. This place is unique.
