A small Lebanese jewel hidden in the 18th century. TOTALLY RECOMMENDED!
We went down Rue Fontaine du But, felt hungry and wondered where to eat. We probably ate at every restaurant in the area and tried to make a choice. Suddenly we noticed this little Lebanese restaurant we had not eaten in. I opened the door and saw how small and simple it was and I was ready to go as that fantastic smell entered my nostrils. This place was rough and ready, but it certainly smelled good.
We were unbelievably welcomed by the woman behind the counter and decided to take a chance. From then on, it was joy. The food was typically Lebanese but had a freshness that is very rare. I was assured that everything was homemade every day; and it certainly tasted as if it were. It is a friendly place, full of locals and within 10 minutes the conversation between the tables was fluent. The food was delicious and the cost was relatively low.
Do not get me wrong, this is not somewhere for a romantic dinner or business meeting. It is to go somewhere, with a loved one, family, friends, or all three, just to enjoy good, honest,...
Read moreAs a Lebanese person who have tried most of the Lebanese restaurants in paris, I guess that i am qualified to give my opinion and iâll be very honest. The taste of the food at chez zeina took me back to our familyâs lunch on a Sunday noon. It was really nice to taste our traditional plates served the same way and having the same taste as some of the best restaurants back home, which is extremely rare when one is not working in his home country and does not have access to the same original ingredients. What is more important is that theyâre not encouraging some typical stereotypes when it comes to Lebanese food (e.g., adding hummus on top of everything. WE DONâT DO THAT!). Moreover, the owners zeina and samer, and the the rest of the team were extremely friendly and smiling all the time, while maintaining a great customer service. For this itâs only fair to give chez zeina a five...
Read moreTonight my kids urged me to eat at this place. I had never eaten Libanese food before and they wanted me to try it out. I am so glad we did! It was definately not the first restaurant we ate at in Monmatre however, I would say it was the best! The food was more than delicious. The staff was friendly! The atmosphere is exactely what you would wish for on a summer evening in Monmatre, as it is located in a small street not to far away from the church! We are going to come back, maybe even tomorrow! Thanks for this great culinary...
