The service was so bad! We had dinner there last night (Saturday).
I live in Paris and have come to expect a certain quality from waiting staff. Our waiter was so bad! Placing a bottle of white wine between his inner thighs to pull and pop out the cork, plopping our dirty utensils from the starter on the table to leave with the plates without changing them, never refilling our glasses, and a step so heavy he made the whole section shake when he walked by. He was anything but discrete and professional. He was so bad that we thought Renault rotated factory staff to their restaurant without training.
The food was regular. It was like cafeteria food. Nice presentation but taste was so-so.
I wanted a cocktail that I had seen on their web site, but it wasn't available. Apparently they haven't updated their site in several years.
The only saving grace was the manager, who is a real professional waiter. We left a tip and I hope they don't share it because he was the only one to deserve it.
I was hoping for a romantic evening in a hip restaurant "sur les champs." It was anything but that....
Read moreI am not a "car person" so that may have influenced my appreciation, somewhat, but I found the quality of food here, quite average. The place is in a prime location, and as it was a first for me, the interior with the models displayed and associated memorabilia was a novelty. I had the beef tartare but it was a little unimaginative, and "underdressed" so to speak, so not so memorable. My kids had the kid set menus which looked to be especially good for children - but they just picked at the fish and ate the fries. My mother-in-law recommended this place as she obviously has fond memories from here when she was a much older Austrian gentleman's mistress, back in the day - so maybe...it used to be better - or I just ordered the not so good dish? Even though it's very, very populated by tourists, I really wished I had taken that second last meal in France at Laduree as I wasted time, dulled my tastebuds and spent money at a place not worth...
Read moreAfter what was a decent lunch, we went into the Lego exhibit so my kids could be occupied while I went to the bathroom. When I came back, the kids had found the loose pieces in a storage bench and were building.
Suddenly an employee comes in yelling at them. She tells us very angrily that the exhibit is closed. We point out that there is no closed sign, no hours sign, and the stanchions were not set up to block access. She angrily repeats that it's closed, and as my kids are trying to clean up after themselves and put things away, she's shooing them away angrily. So we left.
When we tried to complain at the main counter, they wouldn't get a manager and they tried to defend her.
Sad. This was a place I remembered fondly from the 1980s when my father took me. I wanted to show my kids. It's gone upscale, all angular and chrome, and the employees are rude.
Food was good, but it’s basically a tourist trap that does not care about...
