My family and I were stuck overnight as our connecting flight to the US was cancelled. Air France put us up in a shabby little hotel not far from the airport and provided us with diner vouchers for the hotel dinner. After checking out the buffet at the hotel and seeing either limited choices or food that looked very “iffy”, I took out my google maps and found this little gem within a several minute walk from the hotel. As our bags were at the airport and we were not very well dressed, I called ahead and asked if it’s ok that we were dressed very casually. I explained that we were mid travel and stuck in the area. The person on the phone was super welcoming and told me not to worry at all and just come on over. It was a Monday and the didn’t seem very busy so that may have had an impact too.
Now for the food. Thank Gd we found this place. The bread, escargot, the tomato and burrata appetizers were amazing. Having just completed 2 weeks traveling through Italy and having had many very good dishes, this tomato and cheese plate was definitely top 3 of our entire trip!!
For mains my one son and I had the duck confit my other son had a steak and my wife had a fish. Our mains were again spot on!! The duck confit was succulent, very ducky (a good thing) and the accompanying potatoes were the bomb.
The wine selection by the glass was very reasonable (7 euro per glass is not much today) and went extremely well with my various dishes.
The service was also spot on. Although english was limited, communication, and level of care was super great.
I am so glad we came here and would advise anyone in the area to stop by. Casual, great food, great service and relatively reasonable.
What more can you ask for??
Thank you for taking care of my family and I hope you never stop serving your...
Read moreI had a stopover in Paris, my first time in the city, and I only had 24 hours to explore. Naturally, I went on a tour, and upon returning to my hotel, I began searching for authentic French cuisine since I’m a foodie. I stumbled upon L'Ardoise de Roissy, and it did not disappoint.
The service was excellent; the waiter frequently checked on me and helped me choose my meal. I started with escargot in homemade garlic butter, which was absolutely delightful, served with perfectly chewy French bread. It was my first time trying escargot, and I’m now in love!
For the main course, I had delectably tender tripe in a slightly spicy tomato-based sauce, accompanied by freshly boiled potatoes. It was the best tripe I have ever tasted. My only regret is that I didn’t have room for dessert, and I wish I had more days in Paris to explore the menu further.
Overall, I was impressed by the top-notch service and delicious...
Read moreI recently dined at a charming restaurant just outside Paris, and it was absolutely delightful! The starter of tomato and burrata was exquisite—the burrata was creamy, and the tomatoes were fresh and flavorful, setting the perfect tone for the meal.
For the main course, I opted for the steak with fries, salad, and pepper sauce. The steak was cooked to perfection—tender and full of flavor. The fries were crispy and well-seasoned, and the salad provided a refreshing contrast. The pepper sauce was the ideal blend of spicy and creamy—a true highlight!
And the coffee… simply outstanding! As a coffee enthusiast, I was thoroughly impressed. It was the perfect end to a wonderful meal.
I’m truly pleased with my experience and highly recommend this restaurant. The service was warm and attentive, the food was of exceptional quality, and the ambiance was cozy and inviting. I will...
