Dinner started out nicely but it went downhill quickly. I ordered duck confit with mushrooms and my wife ordered lamb with mashed potatoes. We ordered in English. The server brought us dishes that looked close to what we ordered but we weren't 100% sure. We ate the meals (we were hungry and had been waiting awhile) and we waited for the server to come by to ask how we were doing, but she waited until we were finished. We then confirmed that what we ordered was not exactly what we were served -- and she asked if it was excellent. Um, not quite. My wife said no... and I said the same (because the vegetables were horribly overcooked). When I complained inside the restaurant, the server turned out to be the manager (not sure if she was being truthful or not) and she decided to speak entirely in French when countering my arguments about the meals. She took no responsibility, told me we must've enjoyed the meals because we ate most of the food, and when I told her we ate the meals because we'd waited long enough and we were hungry, she doubled-down on me... the customer being WRONG. I've never had a restaurant owner push the responsibility for the wrong meals being served placed on me. I would stay far away from this place unless you like drama and being blamed for mistakes with the meals. Far away. There are so many other...
Read moreWe dined here twice, once for lunch, once for dinner. The staff are welcoming, and we had a nice table outside away from the crowds of the main town for a more peaceful experience. We both had escargot on both occasions and the scallops, which were delicious and well presented. We noted the scallop dish had an accompliment of either potatoes, mixed vegetables or rice with poppy seeds, all of which don't really match the dish which could benefit from the vegetable element being incorporated into the dish as an ensemble. The wine compliments the seafood well, and they kept us topped up with bread. On the secondoccasiono, we tried the walnut tartlet, which was disappointing as it was comprised of an undercooked dry pastry base with a handful of walnuts thrown in and drizzled with a warm caramel sauce. This was not a tartlett which disappointed us as everything else had been so nice. All togethe, this is still a better offering than many other restaurants in town, and we would return and...
Read moreAbsurd service, lousy food. We do not speak French, the server (who was the manager) brought us the wrong order. I did not enjoy the duck breast (ordered the lamb), my husband had duck confit (very average) with soggy vegetables and salad. We were both hungry so ate the meals.
When she collected the plates I asked if that was the lamb and she admitted to have given us the wrong orders (my husbands meal was to come with potatoes and mushrooms). We complained and was told we ate it so we must have liked it ?!?
Treated so poorly, food was terrible even if it was what we ordered. STAY AWAY there are many other lovely restaurants to enjoy. $86 euros for lousy food...
