As a fellow Bengali visiting Strasbourg, I was told about this place and that they do Sunday brunch. I thought the idea of a Bengali-fusion place sounded brilliant. I have to say I was left a little disappointed as there wasn't much that was very Bengali in terms of the food. There were three of us, so I had the Brunch board with a friend ( that cost 50Euro for two of us to share) and then one of us got steak and eggs. The brunch was not worth the price, I'd say.

Firstly, the place was very under serviced, and we were sat right by the kitchen, so we could see our brunch platter being put together but it was very, very slow. That meant that by the time our food actually made our table, the soup was cold and ice cream had started to melt. By the time we had eaten the first bit of savoury food, the ice cream was basically milkshake. The food was an assortment of smaller breakfast type foods. Sort of like 'girl dinner' so I guess a good option if you're feeling indecisive and wanted a bit of everything. However, I'm personally not a fan of cold pancakes… And nothing about it that I noticed has that ‘Bengali-fusion’ I was told about. There was avo-toast, salmon cream cheese bagel, fruit bowl, burrata, a single poached egg (bare it mind this was meant to be shared between two), French toast and pancakes… We really wanted Sylhet chai, but they said it was not on the menu (it was listed on the website, which I’m guessing has not been updated). We asked for a coffee and water, but again , due to slow service, we never got it 🥲 There was one waiter for the whole restaurant. She was lovely, it’s by no means a reflection on her, it’s just she was dealing with a lot and was understaffed. As were the kitchen staff.

The taste of the food was mid. The best thing was probably the avocado toast but it was small. I didn't finish much else though - e.g. I couldn't manage more than a bite of the bagel (I was looking forward to this the most, but it wasn't great) and we ended up leaving the soup as it arrived like warm and was cold by the time we got to it (and I had to prioritise the ice cream! 😅)

Overall - I personally wouldn't choose the brunch again. The idea is there, but needs a few improvements.

I think the steak and eggs went down well - I didn't eat it so I can't review them fairly.

The brunch board came with watermelon juice which was nice, but it was not chilled so was warm which was a strange feeling haha

We were sat right by the kitchen, although we would have like to be sat elsewhere but that wasn't an option. The place seemed cute, from what I could see being sat by the kitchen, but I did not peep around to see the rest of the restaurant.

Cosy vibe though! Lots of green plants and bottles of wine. I can imagine this place being really nice in...

The owner and the chief are passionate and to their best to deliver a good service and satisfy the clients. The food was good, but forgettable, a bit too expensive in my opinion for the quantities and taste. The wine selection should be improved. The service was attentive to the needs of the client, but could be more time efficient. I think there is potential and i will definitely come back in few months to give Ranna Ghor...

Ranna Ghor in Strasbourg offers a vibrant, à la carte brunch with Bangladeshi flair. The avocado toast stands out—topped with perfectly runny eggs and a hint of spice, it’s both comforting and bold. Set in a cozy, plant-filled space at rue de Zurich, it’s a flavorful gem in Krutenau.
