Big Fernand — Restaurant in Torcy

Our first meal out on holiday in France and without doubt the worst thinnest and tasteless double smash burger and fries I’ve ever got in my life. The chef actually cooked another burger and added it to one in the picture and they were no more than 1mm thick(3 smash burgers that picture apparently). Also the kids chicken tender were over cooked terribly and lots of burnt French fries.(first portion were freezing cold) I’d avoid this place at all costs. Shame I’ve to give them 1 star as zero stars is all it deserves. Also my first ever negative review as normally I do my research as a former head chef and always enjoy good quality meals.

Loved loved loved this place!!! I actually went for one of their meals (the basic one) which included one burger, one fries and a drink. I had the Lucien vegetarian burger which was amazing! The patty wasn’t a mushroom patty, it was an entire mushroom! Great flavours. Instead of plain fries, I had their Grenandine (fries with some of their house sauce, sans meat) which was again great. By the way, if you sign up for a membership at Vallée village, you can get discounts at some restaurant and even stores! And Big Fernand is one of the restaurants which give a 10% discount. Also, if it’s your birthday month, you can get a free dessert. But you can’t club 2 offers so we took the free dessert (a flan)😊 totally recommend...

Ordered 2 burgers (1 being the children's option) and 1 extra fries. Paid €60 which I thought was extremely high. Received 4 burgers and 2 drinks. When I tried to address this issue with the staff, they played ignorant and just gave me extra fries. I was too tired to deal with it. Fries were beyond cooked to the point of tasting burnt(a staff member acknowledged this and gave even more extra fries). Burgers themselves were average at best. My family politely asked for takeaway boxes so as not to be rude and leave all our uneaten food on the table. It's more polite to just throw it in the bin outside. Worst meal I've eaten thus far...
