Menu Palais — Restaurant in Torcy

It has to be one of the worst places I have ever been to. I went once couple of months back to La vallee in March’23 and because the restaurant looks so fancy from outside, we went. Cost:7/10 Portion size:7/10 Services: 3/10 Food :1/10 I am giving 1 because they did serve something.

1st visit: I ordered vegetable casserole and It has to be the worst ever vegetable casserole. No salt, no taste, simply boiled veggies (beans, broccoli and artichoke) served for 14 Euros. i asked for salt and pepper 2 times which never arrived. It was just so sad.. i told myself to never go there again. 2nd visit: June’23, despite previous experience, I went again bcz it was very sunny and hot and to their advantage, this is only restaurant in la vallee. I thought may b last time my choice was bad, I would take something else. To my surprise, they topped the previous experience. 1. Only 1 napkin provided for a company of 2 ppl Dirty table and dirty cutlery. Water mark on all the glasses and bottles No default condiments provided. It was there on few tables and few were left to request and get frustrated I ordered the safest thing possible which I thought no one can make bad, Fries and Coca,,, These guys served extremely soggy fries. The rigatoni pasta was utterly tasteless.

I highly doubt they have any returning customers. The place is thriving because of it’s location. The tourists coming to la vallee definitely would need a place for eating and there they are,,, the only option.

Next time, I will pack my tiffin and get my own snacks rather than...

I think that there is a big misunderstanding about the service. Most of the reviews talk about the waiters and waitresses not wanting to take their orders but in reality, you are assigned a waiter or waitresses but as many of the staff are not fluent in English or other languages and find it hard to explain about the assigned waitresses and simply shake their head and walk away. As for the food, we ordered the fish and chips, local cheese burger and beef tartare with fries. We had all the recommended items shown in the reviews and they proved that they had earned their 'popular' tag on Google reviews. - got sick of beef tartar fast but is delicious would be easier to share, came with steaming hot bread to spread the tartar on. - Fish and chips, good but portion is not worth the money Local cheese burger, can pick doneness of beef patty. Had well done but was a little dry, could use more sauce, red onion taste very strong. For drinks we had orange juice and a smoothie by the name of coral. Juice was average and smoothie had a strong banana and blackberry taste couldn't taste rest of fruits. Mostly foam and paper straw ruins experience. Don't mind...

Horrible service. My mom ordered ahead of time and received her order after 40 minutes. I arrived shortly after and ordered fish and chips, a beer, and an iced tea. I waited for another 40 minutes, only for the waiters to realize that they were not able to punch our orders. Despite realizing this, the original waiter (who was a very Asian-looking girl - she was also mentioned in other reviews below) assigned to our table kept aggressively insisting that we pay for the first orders first, and that her colleague will punch our orders after we pay. I asked why we had to do this when we were still waiting for the orders that we placed 40 minutes ago (and where THEY made the mistake), and she just kept shoving the card terminal to my mom’s face.

I complained to the manager who was very respectful about it. I have been living in France for three years, and I have never experienced this level of disrespect.
