The best coffee in Toulouse! Located in the heart of Carmes, in the historical center of Toulouse, Cafe Papiche serves excellent coffee along with great cakes, cookies, light lunches and a weekend brunch (which I hope to try next time!). Ein absoluter Glücksgriff (und eine dringende Empfehlung!) inmitten der Altstadt. Wir hatten das Menü mit Quiche, frischem Salat, Espresso und Kuchen nach Wahl – alles durchweg köstlich. Die Quiche war perfekt abgeschmeckt, der Salat knackig, und bei den Kuchen musste ich zwischen Käsekuchen und Karottenkuchen kämpfen – beide ein Traum. Die Bohnen für meinen Espresso zuhause habe ich gleich mitgenommen. Die Kellnerin war ein Highlight: herzlich, aufmerksam und sprach fließend Deutsch, Englisch und Französisch. Wir haben uns nett mit ihr unterhalten und erfahren, dass sie die Kuchen selbst backt – und das schmeckt man. Alles ist vegetarisch, ein Gericht sogar vegan – perfekt für alle, die bewusst genießen wollen. Man sitzt hier sehr schön, wahlweise draußen oder drinnen, mit Blick auf das charmante Altstadtviertel. Die Preise sind absolut fair. Kurz gesagt: hingehen, genießen, glücklich sein.

Stopped there hoping for a nice coffee stop. Went up to place an order and we were told please take a seat. 20 mins later new customers went up to the till and their order was taken. So went back to the till and placed our order. 40 mins later we left and cancelled our order as everyone having arrived after us were served and still no sign of ours...
